India confirms order for IAF's Rafale deal with France

I bet . t won't be..
...with PAF-FA out of equation, I see a renewed thrust for AMCA
That's right, trading one paper plane in for another expect this time starting from an even lower base- that can only lead to success.

Yet another stipulating the MMRCA/Rafale and FGFA orders are mutually exclusive- when has that ever been expressed?

. . . .
Their won't be just 36
That's for sure

If the navy Firms up for Rafale M, then their is a chance that Air force could get another 36-44 Rafales

IAF's final Rafale numbers will be anywhere from 126-189.
Indian Navy won't buy Rafale's just because IAF is buying. They will most certainly look to see if it fits their operational needs. They have good strategic thinkers.
I'm sure they also know, IAF buying big numbers of Rafale and make-in-India will certainly help bring cost of Rafale down, which in return will bring their cost down.

Navy has to decide by 2020, regarding what aircraft to buy for INS Vishal

We don't want to have a situation where Vishal is without adequate Airwing for first 2-3 years

Navy only has 2 choices
F35C or Rafale M
Since quantity required is only 36-48, it makes sense to go with something IAF already has

If US is providing EMALs with ToT, expect the F-35C. US won't hand out such technology just like that.

36 Rafales or 126 Rafales, the truth is we won't be able to induct more than 2 squadrons before 2022. And we will be receiving 2 squadrons of Su30mki and two more that of Tejas.

And we will be giving up over 14 squdrons if we really give a damm about our pilots.

That simply means we will loose out the number advantage over our adversary.

Go cry as much as you want, only solution is getting second hand mirages and more Mog29s.

2020 IAF Inventory

15 Squad Su 30Mki
06 Squad Mirage + Mig 29
05 Squad Jaguar
02 Squad Rafale
3-4 Squad Lca Tejas

31-32 Squadrons I don't think their will any be need for IAF to go for second Fighter jets at that time......If needed you can easily increase create around 2 more squadrons of Su 30Mki by decreasing the number of Su 30mki in a squadron from 18 to 16....
