New Delhi, Aug 18 (PTI) India and China are unlikely to allow their high economic growth to be disrupted by any military conflict in the coming decades, a former Navy officer said today.

"Both the neighbouring countries are on path of high economic growth and a war between them may ruin the process completely, which both the countries would not like to allow in the coming decades," Rear Admiral (Retd) K Raja Menon said here.

Underlining the growing importance of India and China, Menon, a defence analyst, said the two countries were being so influential that a full fledged war between them will take the shape of another 'world war'.

Speaking about Pakistan, Menon said the country is facing different internal crises and is unlikely to recover from them in years to come.

-------

If "world war" who's on India's side? Who's on China's side? There is no distinct line, so no world war. Only regional conflict.

There isn't going to be any war. Both countries want development, not some useless conflict.

Why he needed to comment on Pakistan here. Just an idiot as others.

^Who are you to call him an idiot? He was probably responding to a question by a reporter.

Well i think, India and china relations will improve, if china is willing to improve relations with India than Pakistan, and i don't think that will happen.

so therefore Pakistan is kanta, (no Offense) between India and china peace.

Off course no one is permanent friend. India need to develop as much as friendship with all nations. Even other countries (Pakistan) should follow same.

I would agree with Desiguy to some extent that there could be another cold war- a tough one!. Now, a cold war, like the one between US and Soviet, is good from a scientific point of view, but its a nightmare from an economic point of view. Also in the end, there will be a loser!

Personally i believe this could be a cold war of economics....a healthy war that can wipe out poverity from 1/3 of humanity.

PS: "The rise of china is the best thing ever happend to India, vice versa"

Mr. Menon is a very well versed man...and an able foreign affairs handler...i have heard him speak on a variety of issues and he definitely is no 'idiot'.
you should refrain from calling people higher up as idiots without any proper reason.
