Again I repeat ,it is no longer a choice when it is labelled on practically everything a normal household needs .
It becomes a norm ,a necessasity thus absolutely unjustified.

But the choice is yours to make- Buy or not to buy!- If the majority stop buying then maybe to balance sales the company will introduce Non Halal products as well- (This is more and more looking like "Dont buy vegetables from Muslim traders"- campaign)- How come no one had a problem before BJP and all of a sudden this is an issue with BJP in power?

There may be a difference within different schools of thought. But as far as I know, an animal slaughtered by a "person of the book" is also halal. Therefore, we can eat meat slaughtered by a christian or jew as long as other provisions are met. The Shafi madhab, that is more prevalent in the Middle east, follows this ruling. The Hanafi madhab, that is more prevalent in South Asia, is the strictest, and may not allow this.
