If u cannot make electronics,,there is no future at all.We will always import critical tech as nothing works without chips,,,absolutely nothing.

This tech is the most important for future....rest can wait

Why? The cost of developing a new design just for ego's sake? Intel is powerful and it works, go with it. We don't have anything to prove by making another processor. So we buy it from open market, so what? It is cheaper to make those chips in Vietnam so be it, the same way it is cheaper to make cars in India for export to Vietnam. If we chase these glory projects, you won't finish any of your projects in time coz you're gonna have a hundred labs making a hundred things none of which will come on time. Instead a big project has a few core things you want to achieve, the rest you source.

Completely out of context reasoning. Indian chip industry WILL develop over time, especially when the power situation stabilizes. But most importantly India doesn't need to feel insecure about absorbing critical tech. DRDO does have a few processors that are used for defence, which is a good guarantee. As far as them developing a chip for supercomputing or equaling Intel, that is a pipe-dream. Intel's entire existence is based on making chips, that is their bread and butter. The do only that and will always deploy more money than anyone else gonna deploy. So their processors in open market will always be more powerful than anything that DRDO brings out (coz DRDO has a 100 other things to focus on too).
