India becomes world's 5th largest economy, overtakes UK, France

.
They say "lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics." And I can't think of better example then South Asia. I am convinced that the figures we get for Pakistan and India are fudged. Over the previous months I have yaken to enjoying youtube travel Vlogs in the evenings which replaced me watching crime series. Got sick of murder, rape and police investigations. Having watched lots of them from multitude of uploaders from across the world that give on the ground experiance of life on streets of India I conclude that the reality - India is probably slighter poorer then Pakistan. No amount of fudging can hide the reality on the ground.

The best example is watching vlogs of travellers driving from Indian Punjab but Pak Punjab across the Wagah border. Indian Punjab is one of the wealthiest states in India. Yet there appears to be no real economic differance between the Pak side and India side other than the marked increase in beggers and man pulled rickshaws on the Indian side.

Now go enjoy your numbers ......

It will be an eye opener

As I said many times there's nothing to brag about producing more wealth than countries whose populations are about 67 millions when yours is more than 1,3 billion.

The real achievements which you could brag about would be to provide the same standards of living and quality of life, education, healthcare, public safety, justice, transports, social servcies etc. the citizens of France or the UK enjoy especially when you see the challenges facing south asia and the long way they have to go. You can brag about numbers but the reality of the ground is all different!

You are right but it is good to have some milestones to achieve as otherwise you can easily lose focus.

Now that India has passed UK and France, then it can target Germany, Japan... etc.

Indus and the Wick can mock but every Pakistani general and politician would sell his whole family to become the 5th largest economy .

What it offers is the ability to shape the vast home market which all countries including Luxembourg would envy. It also allows purchase of large capital intensive items like the s400 and rafale jets which all here seem to envy

Is per capita GDP lower ranked or IQ?:lol::lol:

Indians IQ levels on average is certainly lower than average Pakistanis as the survey stats shows. A for the per capita income India's have slightly higher. But again that includes all the average divided accumulated income of Ambanis, Adanis and Birlas...which doesn't mean the lowest of the low income/below poverty line people is getting the average per capita GDP shown.

Multi dimensional poverty index is a better figure and India is behind Pakistan and in the hunger index as well.

This is a new survey...

The prediction is made by CEBR 10 years ago and it comes true exactly at the same year. CEBR also predict Bangladesh economy to reach 1 trillion dollar GDP in 2034. So look like the prediction have quite credibility although the sample is only India for this time.

it is to brag when you read the worst situation which the brits left india/pakistan after partition and the amount of wealth which was looted to make the british economy in the first place, where was india/ISC before colonial period and after it got independence from it? The difference clearly is the situation which the brits left, heck the indians couldnt even nurture some balls to change the colonial legacy left behind by the colonists, that was so well programmed by them, one of the biggest reason why it lags behind is the colonial era exploitative system remains unchanged.

Using fudged numbers? Or the reality on the ground? I am not denying India has made progress from what was abysmal state of affairs. But that is not saying much. There is no "economic wall" between India and Pakistan where millions look across with desire at the riches across in India like there used to be in the Iron Curtain in Europe or Hong Kong and mainstream PRC back in 1970s.

It's the same shit, only in greater quantities i India .... now go and take refuge in the 'numbers'.

Fact: India is home to the largest numbers of humanity living in abject poverty making Africa look like land of aplenty.

Indus and the Wick can mock but every Pakistani general and politician would sell his whole family to become the 5th largest economy .
Yes. By pumping out per capita productivity. Not by pumping out billions of babies. 1.4 billion to be exact.

And I am not mocking. I included Pakistan in this as well. The targets should be per capita. Not GDP. All that does is gives politicians brag rights when ordinary masses drown in poverty.

As I said many times there's nothing to brag about

If they, the Indians don't brag about what do they do. They will cease to be the one, without the bragging, boasting and fake chest thumping. The reason these media report appears every other day is the very reason...fake feel good factor.

Good news. South Asia is making great progress. Interesting fact: did people know Pakistan's economy is larger then the most prosperous country on earth, Luxembourg with a GDP per capita of $113,000.

23px-Flag_of_Luxembourg.svg.png
Luxembourg

GDP (nominal) 2019 estimate
• Total
11px-Decrease2.svg.png
$69.453 billion[3] (69th)
• Per capita
11px-Decrease2.svg.png
$113,196[3] (1st)

Pakistan.

GDP (nominal) 2019 estimate
• Total
$284.2 billion[15] (42nd)
• Per capita
$1,388[15] (148th)

Of course one Luxembourger earns more than 100 Pakistani's but hey who cares. Pakistan can gloat over the fact that it has bigger economy then the wealthiest country on earth. So can India. Now both can masturbate over "big, big" while being fcukin starving.
Absolutely
