The fact is that US navy owns both south China sea and Indian ocean. As well as all the oceans on earth. China is taking US into calculation. But its a good thing that India regard US as a friend and do not mind US in charge of Indian Ocean. However, India should take that friendship a step further and allow US navy to dock and refuel in India and also allow US drones to use port Blair.

Out of question as US already has a huge base in Diego Garcia and enough Long Range Bombers/Recon aircraft and Drones stationed there to monitor the entire stretch from IOR to SCS. Besides, India isn't a US lieutenant to allow it's land to be used in such a way.

Please look at the map of Indian Ocean first. Australia has twice the size in their claim on Indian Ocean compare with India. And Indonesia has more territorial claim on Indian Ocean than India also. India can claim Indian Ocean not even the size of the Arabian sea.

Major territorial sea of India consist of Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, while Indian Ocean is just a very small part of your actual territorial sea. Sri Lanka and Maldive and even the little British island of Garcia all have large territorial sea in Indian Ocean, nor to mention all the East Africian countries from Somalia to to Aouth Africa.

Look hard again at the your official national map on your territorial water and your EEZ.

Arabian Sea and bay of bengal are your bigger backyard than Indian Ocean, the way Indian Navy feel threatened by presence of Chinese navy is simply a over-reaction.

Also, please learned that China's claim in South China Sea was printed on a ROC (Republic of China, or what you people like to call as Taiwan) map as early as 1936 before there were countries like Vietnam, Phillipines etc. PRC China simply took over when ROC retreated to Taiwan after the civil war. And also not all of South China Sea is claimed by China.

about Maldives,do you even know that India installed coastal radars of all its Islands/Atolls and took them under Indian Security Grid,along with deploying assets to protect their EEZ??we have placed "Listening Stations" in Seychells as well.in front of Indian EEZ(2,305,143 km2),only Australia and Indonesia may pose a claim of "Larger EEZ",none others...and Sri Lanka??are you kidding???we gifted them Island so that they could increase their border and EEZ..
