India admits blunder in ‘most-wanted’ list

I am no fan of Hafiz Saeed and wish him hellfire if he has been responsible for terrorism in Mumbai or anywhere else, however at the end of the day the guilt has to be proven.
Even on many other levels, i dislike this guy...but this is not about mine or anyone else's strong likes or dislikes...it is about law and justice which sadly require concrete evidences..

reminds me of the quotes from the movie "devils advocate" when Keanu Reeve says to the jury that is hating someone a reason enough to convict him of murder? This is in his response to the prosecution’s opening argument about the defendant who is accused of the murder of his family and maids. The prosecution lawyer goes all hyped up and emotional about how despicable, hateful and bad the defendant is to which Keanu’s opening liners to the jury are, I will tell you 10 more things about the defendant that how bad he is and how much he hates his own defendant, there is a gasp and shock by everyone listening, he lets the audience sink / absorb his words and then makes the killer comment I stated above, is hating someone a reason enough to convict him…?

Like AG, I cant stand Jamat Islami (read ) its philosophy, its leadership that lacks human emotions and doesn’t know the meaning of human rights of minorities and non Muslims and also its close associates like Hazif Saeed and their obnoxious excuse and support for Taliban terrorists. But this all has nothing to do with the court of law and justice.

Unlike the example set recently by Uncle Sam (and the immediate boastings afterwards by the Indian Sena Pati about imitating Abbotabad operation) India should exhibit a different approach to the Taliban justice exhibited on weekly to daily bases in Kabul sports stadium where brains were blown out through point bank AK 47 fire. Despite all differences and grievances, Pakistanis admire Indian democracy and better judicial system compared to what we have had since partition. So we expect better than the Robocop style threats and rhetoric of handing over the people (when we don’t even have any agreement to do so).

.
many thanks for that my friend. our courts use the similar law of evidence and they don’t see how they can keep the Indian Alleged masterminds behind bars or approve the handover of them (without even any mutual agreement among countries) to India.

don’t take it as if I am second guessing the ability and freedom of the Indian Justice system, far from it, I am just shocked how that person is allowed to live there and yet find his name in the list being handed over to Pakistan?

try explaining that to many people in rest of the world that lost their loved ones in that terrorist attack. I know i wont be able to convince them.

it just gives away the zeal and excitement of point scoring at Pakistan specially after the Abbotabad operation. why loose the moment? I hope someone at the ministry takes the fall for this blunder.

Well merely admitting the mistake is not enough, its an international matter and someone has to bite the bullet and resign.

For a clerical error?? Do you really think the Babus in the subcontinent have that high levels of morality.. Naahh.. Embarrassing the country is nothing that these babus havent done in the past or wont do in the future.

BJP slams govt for second goof-up in list of most wanted men

The BJP today dubbed as "shameful" the second goof-up by the government in the list of most wanted persons handed over to Pakistan with a man figuring in it being traced in a jail in Mumbai and said the international community will "not take India's case seriously".

The party targeted home minister P Chidambaram alleging he is responsible and the home ministry is a "total failure".

The name of Feroz Abdul Khan, alias Hamza, an accused in 1993 Mumbai blast case who was arrested from a village in Navi Mumbai in February last year and handed over to CBI, is contained in the list of most wanted by India and he was found in Arthur Road jail in Mumbai.

BJP president Nitin Gadkari said "it is a failure of the home ministry and the way in which it has been happening. It is very unfortunate and shameful for the country."

He said the goof-up is an "embarrassment" for the country.
