India acquires anti-missile capability

. . .
are we working on this direction ?

There is no doubt that we can make this ABM by using our experience from BM but the performance of ABM has always been under question mark especially after the induction of MIRV technology.The success rate of ABM is very low against MIRV's ,so instead of spending resources Pakistan is focusing on MIRV technology to cope up with enemy ABM

Goo point made....this is a liquid based missile which will take 10-20 minutes to fuel....abit late for the missile capabilities of a neighbouring country.......and the last I remember, the US missile shield tests had failed and is still be perfected as much as possible in order to shoot down ramjet design engines, whilst scramjets are still in early research stages..........

I think the Indians are getting excited prematurely.........

Missile on missile - What do you mean........have you not seen Mahabharat.......they can do anything.....

By the way, this is in the wrong section.............please move to INDIAN DEFENCE
The concept of missile defence shield is still in testing phase, hence failures are expected. However, you cannot deny the potency of some existing US missile interceptors.

For example;

Aegis missile defense ship destroys ballistic missile target in test | al.com

The missile destroyed in this test was a multi-stage 1000 km class product. The target was knocked out within 3 minutes of its flight.

The SM-3 interceptor was used by US to even kill a satellite in space in 2008. It is indeed a potent weapon. And it has impressed Japan nonetheless.

Though, research is still in progress. Just like evolving missile threats, countermeasures are also evolving with passage of time.

So missile on missile concept is not a far fetched idea.

However, laser technology seems more promising in this field.
