India 5th most powerful nation, says govt index

yeah it seem's realistic, just one change ,i don't think U.K should be in second position. The second position belong's to either russia or china.

I dont agree with you.Which segment do ya refer to?If you refer to military,I would agree but if overall power I would choose Uk too.

Its nice to see that an Asian nation(India) is playing their own tricks on the West.

Asia has arrived.

.
UK has lost its relevance. Only reason UK being in currency is because US is supporting its puppet as a buffer in eurozone.

UK = american puppet who is spoiling euro party.

So the 5th powerful nation on earth is going to exchange pirates with hostages.Looking at past Indian history its quite possible that 5th powerful nation will dance to the tunes of pirates same way freedom fighters made India dance to its tune after Indian airlines hijacking and got ghazi Azhar masood released :)

Dear Hayat,

Your words really implicate the hatred against India. If you disagree over the the ranking or the whole propaganda, then you can deffinately put your point in more constructive manner. Inflaming is not an option my dear brother.
Fightinhg with Somali pirates would be benificial to all arab nations, Pakistan, BD, Srilanka, India and even china. And the hijacking of the IC 814 was not a glorius act for which you are pating the back of those terrorist (oh!! sorry i hurt your feelings, you call those insane ones as freedome fighters). That son of Azar Masood you call as Gazi, what made them so special for you? How can you call him freedome fighter when he was born at Bahawalpur In Pakistan and not belonging to Kashmir??

Maulana Masood Azhar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Common man have some good life, work well to contribute to develop Pakistan, Terrorism from these ba*tards can not be justified and nor the the hatred agaist India well bring prosperity to Pakistan.

By the way I dont believe in such rankings, and china Loves to keep low profile and work hard to develop. Hence in their own list their rank is at lower side.

With regards
Drunken Monke

I would put Canada in equal to Nepal.

When you have a powerful nation supporting you, you automatically grow big balls. That's canadian puppet story(with father USA standing behind it). Otherwise, it doesn't even have a proper army or airforce.

I think India should support Nepal and ask it to demand a seat in IMF. If India pushes(behind scenes) for it, Nepal will get it.

This is how all those small countries got into NSG. Most countries on that table has no Army or military power.

Noone is invited UNSC in voluntary manner, never was. India is doing right thing by demanding its rightful position. If you want access to Indian market, open UNSC, otherwise go f*ck off. That's how it works.

Releasing the list of powerful nations is I think was first step. For checking what might be 2nd step, I would say, study the list carefully. Releasing the list, is an open indication that India is ready to play balls at the table.

And, I think China began this practice decade ago. Its nice to see timing of this list release is coinciding with BRICS meeting.

Pakistan is doing a favour to India, by training its young population on International terrorism(IT) and not on Information technology(IT).

They are spoiling their own future generation and all of this is only benefiting western interests of keeping region volatile. More weapon sales, gaining control over regional pipeline routes by weakening small states from inside.

Chinese have the same feeling on india. We recently allocated an extra 200 billion USD on top of the existing education budget for our youngs, yet indians are laughing at others.

trust me dude, Pakistan is not going to end you or your nation, we Chinese will.

I think, some people here(from USA, China) are not so much worried about actual place, their respective country got in the official GoI ranking, but they are objecting to their rights that only they can release ranking and others can't. LOL!

Krishna reiterates India’s commitment to Nepal’s development

External affairs minister SM Krishna on Wednesday reiterated India’s cooperation and contribution to Nepal’s development. Addressing media persons on his arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Krishna also expressed the southern neighbour’s commitment for a democratic, stable, peaceful and pros

perous Nepal.
“It has been India’s endeavour to strengthen economic cooperation with Nepal and to contribute to Nepal’s development,” said Krishna.

“Relations with Nepal are and will continue to be a matter of highest priority for India.”

The commitment comes at a time when ruling Maoists in Nepal have stepped up anti-India antics including targeting Indian JV companies, showing black flags to the Indian envoy and defacing of the tricolour.

Krishna who is on a three-day visit is leading a seven-member delegation that includes foreign secretary Nirupama Rao.

Soon after landing in Kathmandu, he had separate discussions with Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari.

The two sides later engaged in an hour long bilateral discussion that encompassed the entire gamut of issues. Nepal Foreign Secretary Madan Kumar Bhattarai termed the deliberations as fruitful.

Later in the day, Krishna had meetings with President Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.

This is the first high-level visit by an Indian dignitary since Khanal assumed office in February this year. Krishna is expected to invite the Nepal PM to visit India next month.

During his stay the External Affairs Minister will hold meetings with leaders of Nepali Congress, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist) and Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).

He will also visit Birgunj on the India-Nepal border to lay the foundation stone of the Integrated Check Post and Terai Roads Project before flying back to New Delhi on Friday.

Noone in India is laughing on China.

Last time I checked Indian IT Guru Aziz premji praised Chinese development & innovation model and even blamed western media for always keeping China in negative light.

trust me dude, Pakistan is not going to end you or your nation, we Chinese will.

Are you pakistani? If not, how you can provide that guarantee? If yes, then hand over terrorist leader Hafiz Saeed to India and Indians will start to trust Pakistanis.
