Independent Rajputana

Yes. Democracy should give breathing space and avenues for dissent. But not to those who're out to destroy the very democracy that gave them their freedom in the first place.

The reasons for separatism still prevalent in India can be attributed to only two reasons.
1. Non-uniform development within India.
2. Vote-Bank Politics

People tend to forget the Americans fought a bloody civil war over this issue.

those who want to destroy democracy can be allowed to do so in a democratic manner...

Modern day India is full of sickulars and "rationalists". It was not the old country that it was. The last remaining fortress of Dharmic principles is Rajasthan and other surrounding areas like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

I love India but look at the state of Tamil Nadu where Atheist politics is the normality and Kerela where it's a communist fortress. West Bengal also Communist, Punjab is infested with Congress supplied drugs that are affecting the proud Sikh people. Uttar Pradesh is infested with Wahabis and Mullahs with a few brave Jats fighting them off. Bihar has some hope but it's fading. Independent Rajputana will be open too all who want Hindu and Sikh principles.

Yeah, well too bad. And what keralites do is none of your damn business.

Why are Rajputs complaining now anyway? You guys had no problem cozying up to the british, No problem giving away your princesses to Mughals.

And those states mentioned are better than RaajPuttana.

Of all the communities, not North Easterners, Not the tribals, but the Rajputs are oppressed.

Stop whining.

LOL. I knew it, there must be an American precedent on something for you to approve it. Anyways not complaining on this one.

well this is about a ridiculous thread about a Rajput whining.

Yes, a Warrior nobility clan who had a piece of the pie in every single regime since the 1400's is now whining.

We are a democratic nation so the OP should stop whining.

Probably want independence because he wants his privy purse back too.

those who want to destroy democracy can be allowed to do so in a democratic manner...

And those people can be destroyed in a democratic manner too

Abrogation of privy purse was a breach of faith on part of the govt and not something I approve of. Our Royalty handled it rather well though.

If the OP is complaining about Atheist Tamil nadu and communist Kerala, then why dont india give independence to these states?

Problem solved :-)

Nobody like mallus anyway, so win win :D

How does that even make sense? OP's very grouse is that atheists and communists have taken over India and he wants his small space where he can fly his Hindu flag.

It makes sense. The communists and Atheists will leave india or no longer be considered Indian.

Did he also forget, that apart from Communists and Atheists, these two states gives BARC, DRDO and ISRO a lot of the OP scientists too?

He can fly his Hindu flag in his own damn house.

India is going to be here for a long.... LONG time.

Now he can bury his dream of RaajPuttana along with his dream of falling in love with that pretty girl across the street.

i think rajasthan needs quick development in economy and education. o_O

understatement of the year.

Well the communists and atheists are pseudo communist and pseudo atheists for one. Karunanidhi has been making lot of offerings to all temples in TN. The communist cadres in Kerala have become Aiyappa bhakts. ISRO chairman visits Tirupathi before any mission launches. So that argument is on shaky grounds.

He may still get the pretty girl across the street though.

Hmmm....

During the lead upto the independence, Cochin Kingdom and Travancore or Thiruvithancoor Kingdom and it's royalty did actually try to educate it's population, particularly the travancore kingdom.

So they were popular enough.

I don't think the abolition would have made much difference to these guys as they were probably among the wealthiest in the country.

It is not about them being wealthy or not. It was dishonest conduct by the govt. This lack of integrity has marked its attitude towards the people of the country too. Hence the mess we are in.

Much of the Hindu culture was saved due to the kingdoms patronage. They were also the most well governed places in India. Mysore Kingdom was the first to get electricity. Most railway systems were owned by the kingdoms. All in all they were popular rulers and hence command much respect throughout India even now.

Never liked going inside temples outside kerala, too much noise, too much people and less of a spiritual atmosphere.

Except the one I went to in Mysore I can't remember the name because I was eight.

Those are the big temples. A temple visit is about having a "darshan," a glimpse of god, so really unfair to expect anything else given their popularity and the crowds. For a quiet meditative session there are smaller temples everywhere.
