Why exactly? People have been making seditious remarks for the last couple of decades and all have been received very well by the liberal secular folks. Just see Kashmiri separatists, Arundati Roy, Vir Sanghvi, Madhu Badhuri, Prashant Bhushan. They are the toast of the human rights activists, so why exactly is SaffronSoldier's views unplatable? Then of course there are people claiming how to be a true liberal democracy we should allow people freedom to air their views, so let him voice his views.
I don't see any reason why anyone should be spared if they make seditious remarks in public. If those you mentioned have openly made statements like some Region of India should be independent, they too are guilty of a crime. Plain and simple.
