Independence Day bloodbath: 142 people are killed in 379 shootings across the US during July Fourth weekend as celebrations turned violent

It reminds me of a Hollywood film series (i cant remember the name) where during one night in a year in the US, people are free to kill whoever they want. Crazy.

. .
Good but the government is not doing enough, why are they commiting suicide and life expentancy is shorter than average. Please do not force them to change faith like what the British did in Canada. And then buried them alive.

Can we stay on topic instead of going on 200 tangents. Please stick to the OP.

.
Every year, about 115,000 people suffer gunshots, on average, which makes for about 600 per weekend, so actually the July 4th long weekend was below average, and not the "bloodbath" a lying bot would try to promote ad nauseum. :D

Maybe for civilised people these figures are astonishingly high. Societies with no gun culture, no gangs, no drugs, stability and peace , will look at your reply as self defeating and amusing.

The native American is in fact ethnic cleansing case you can't hardly find any native American today. Maybe a casino owner. Their culture is gone with the silver wind. Some tainted names on some US weapons to show we still respect the native Indian. My foot. I killed the entire clans and now I name a nude dance club crazy horse.

Go to CN Xinjiang walk around you will see Uigher everywhere, having their culture practised, 20,000 mosques. Where is ethic cleansing?
Mass media lied again? Due to CIA again? Or competition in cotton industry? Today if you can't find any uigher like what happen to the native American Indian then it is called ethnic cleansing.
US has only 1000+ mosques , CN has 20,000. US is not a Muslim country so does CN.

I am not from CN but speaking from reality and facts.

Black racism and racism against other minority.
What is your metric for hardly? Have you personally walked the street to see how many you encounter in each American street or neighborhood or are you quoting some actual study?(if so please provide a link to a reputable source)

The native American genocide was about 150-200 years ago. Xinjiang is today.

The US population for muslims isn’t reflective of the Chinese population of muslims nor does the US government come and stop people from praying or fasting.

.
Forget Xinjiang they are well off than poor Indians. Genocide please look into the mirror for some self reflection what India done to Kashmir. Learning from Israel what they done to Palestine?
Stop changing goalposts - you mentioned Native Americans as some genocide example for current state sponsored activities so don’t try to shoot tangents. Can you as a Chinese say a SINGLE thing against your government actions without being taken away in the night?
Meanwhile, Native American genocide is taught and discussed with criticism of the men who engaged in it.

.
No wonder US throw them into some woods? Why putting them in reserve land. This is against human right. 5 million is only less than 2% of the own land population.
Very sad how the native is treated.

What are you talking about? They can live anywhere they want. It is everybody else who needs permission to live on their reservation land.

You have the situation backwards (as usual)

Their countries, their rules. Ditto for USA.

600 odd Americans on average receiving gunshots on a weekend is American rule? Civilized societies will see it as a rule of jungle.

You really should read about the Second Amendment and all the legal issues and interpretations around it:

Texas is FUBAR along with Florida - however the best step IMO isnt to curb gun sales but rather introduce similar checks as with permits. The metrics on permit carriers vs just purchased guns in violence is very different. The background checks eliminate a lot of the unstable and criminal category (although they have other gun sources).

Finally, education and exposure have a huge impact too. I carry both a handgun and a AR - but the usage and knowing when to have it on derive from my judgment which has had people drill in education and exposure to different situations.

Most gun clubs offer that training to a certain level - guns should be accessible but we just need better controls to get to them.

As long as we have the Second Amendment interpreted as it is, bans will likely not be a successful strategy. So the solutions must include all the things you mention.

Pay attention to what I said. The civilized societies, who dont have random Joes turning up on malls, kindergartens etc and gunning people down, will see it as a rule of jungle.

Pay attention to what I have said. The Second Amendment is part of the Constitution and upholding it is part of the rule of law.

PS: Remember Dunblane?
