@Mr.Nair , do you know the houseboats? How much do they cost? Planning to visit India soon. Also, if they allow us to fish in the back waters of kerala.

Rent the exclusive ones rather than the shared house boats. It will cost you more, but it is definitely worth it.

I am just an angler. It's my hobby. It's a catch and immediate release.

Check out Cauvery Fishing Camp too and nearby areas. Its not Kerala, but Karnataka also has very beautiful forests and rivers.

15k USD goes long in India, you can stay in a palace for couple of months or trek in Indian Himalayas for half an year getting high on best of weed planet can offer

Nodoubt, but very hard to find rebuilt ones. My neighbor has two of them, he restore both of them . Offer him 5k but no willing to sell. All he say, " yo in mind , i ll tell ya boy".

India can be one of the cheapest places on earth to travel if you don't mind back-packing it and hit the hippie trail. Check India Travel Forum | IndiaMike.com for info and plan your trip. I suggest you go visit Dharamshala and check out the Tibetan scene there, or the north east where you'll find ethnic similarities between our people, it'll be interesting for you lol.

@rott The cost of a house boat depends on several things -
1) No of pax
2) Time of the year (peak or off season)
4) Type of cruise

There are 2 type of cruise, 1 is day cruise and the other is whole day cruise.... Day cruise starts at around 11 am to 5 pm in the evening, they serve welcome drink, lunch and evening tea snacks in this..... This is will cost around 4 thousand INR on a normal day and can go upto 6K on season for a couple..... More couples (person would reduce the rates per head further )

The other type is Check in time at 11 am and check out time is at 9 am. in which they offer you welcome drink, lunch, evening tea snacks, dinner and break fast..... This would cost you 7 thousand for a off season and can go upto 20 to 25 K on season....Again it depends on the number of pax..... There are boats with 2 bedrooms to 6 bedrooms to stay......

If you are travelling on off season, you can walk to aleppy boat jetty where you have tourism booth, there you can book your boat, and they are reasonable.... If you go thru tour operators it will be expensive, but you can get the best boats..... Try to avoid local agents for booking, they may charge you extra, and one cannot guarantee the quality of boats.....

English and foreign language university.. It has campuses in Hyderabad, Shillong and lucknow. Though I advise you to give a thought about Hyderabad( since it is my homwtown ) . Hope this helps.
