Include Bangladesh into G20: Yunus to Sarkozy

I think you are assuming too much. We are talking about present. Younus is not asking for membership in G20 in 10 years from now right?

---------- Post added at 11:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:02 PM ----------

When did African countries ask you for anything? Also we are not talking about UN here. We are talking about G20 which is an economic forum, get it?

Even under present condition bd is doing better then many other countries... n younus has asked to include 5 emerging developing countries and bangladesh is more diserving then apkistan under present scenario and future trends.

That is exactly the point, to represent a broader scale of variables as he said,
capitalism has its consequence, you sissies don't give a rats a$$ 'bout poors in
your country but we do.

Indeed you do!

What is the rate of interest Younus' Grameen Bank charges?

If Bangladesh joins G20, they may as well have to bid adieu the preference they enjoy over India and Pakistan while exporting to western countries(low tariffs etc). Considering BD is trying to be an export oriented country, do you think BD can afford the competition right now?

Yes it surely will give some internet bangladeshis a way to score points over other.

Yes Bangladesh is doing better. But if you take a scale of it, its influence in world economy is negligible. After all G20 is an economic forum unlike UN. Adding too many members just for solidarity would complicate the dialogue which otherwise should be quick and decisive. I am sorry even with all the development Bangladesh is not a candidate for G20 not at least for next 10-15 years.

If tomorrow there's a financial crisis in Bangladesh, its not going to affect the world like if it is in other G20 countries. That's the truth.

Would Standard chartered or HSBC open a branch in a remote village?
About the interest, its a controversial matter so I wouldn
bother unless I know the opinions.

Wow..Look who's talking? But anyways what is poors? Like I said G20 is an economic forum. Poor countries will not have representation..its not UN.

Let me ask a few questions,
Its not about GDP of Bangladesh,India or Pakistan as
none of you ignorants seem to actually read the article properly.
Most of the time BD has to lead many countries
which doesn have proper resources for demanding
their terms in global councils and summits, such as
coppenhegen summit last year. Several African nations themselves
recommended us for leading the terms. Now lets say India and Pakistan
are super duper rich countries but how much do they represent
the smaller countries in summits?

Bangladesh lies in the threshold point therefore the
recommendation, not because we are wannabe Super Powaaaah!

Lol Thank India for scuttling the Doha round of talks of the WTO which were blatantly in favour of the Developed countries when you guys did not even have a voice there.

India and China are holding up the entire developed world in Climate change talks which makes it mandatory for developing nations like you to have legally binding emission norms.

And BTW why should we lead smaller nations, we are not in the category of Least Developed Nations , nor are we their spokesperson?

Are you naive??? Here Dr. Younus asked to add 5 emerging developing country in G20 and asked to make it G25. Understand stuff before posting rubbish. He has just requested and it take couple of years to implement such decision. N if by that time bd can overcome power shortage problem it will be more deserving then any other country specially then pakistan..

Recently EU has said that they want to make bangladesh as their production hub... but same was not said for pakistan. If not bangladesh would do better and they would have confidence on BD they would not say the same.

For India there are certain block of super rich people it has boosted its gdp but majority of the people are poor. Under such condition even development is not possible. But look at bd here poor peoples are coming out of poverty instead of adding more people like india and only developing middle class.

The other advantage of bd is that it does not spoil a huge chuck of budget on defense which hinder national development but both pakistan and india had to spent a huge chunk of their budget on defence and this will increase in the coming years which will hinder development activity. But bd will spend all its money on human resource and infrastructure development.

N you will start to see the striking differences from the coming 5 years or so. Even if you look last 5 years performance you will see poverty rate has been declined by 10 percent, literacy rate has been increased by around 30%, womans enrollment rate in school higher in bd now, foreign remittance was 3-4 billion now around 12 billion, garments case is also same... n so on.

LOL! As far as I know India applied for the funds being so rich that is,
while countries like Maldives were rejected.

Yet India is developing at 8.5% and Bangladesh at 6.3%. Also India is going to be the richest country in the world by 2050 according to the Citi bank report that you so fondly flaunt about. Bangladesh is not in the league to even compare with India.

Are you naive???

No you are just stupid. I am sorry for wasting my time.

Lol what an ignoramus !!

HDI of India in 2007 - 0.612
of Pak - 0.572
of BD - 0.543.

You perhaps need to re-visit second grade again !

Statistics | Getting and Using Data | HD World Map | HDI Trends | Human Development Reports (HDR) | United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Look at the human development report of 2009. Bangladesh is better then both india and pakistan.

Human Development Report 2009 - Gini index

Here lower the value is considered as better.
