I think it is a sign that his party is struggling to gain traction in the political arena. He is trying to see what will work to give him that push.

Well.. the problem is.. in that bag of chips may be one that may sink him.
It seems that he is more and more going on instinct and cabal advisory.. rather than surveys and understanding of public opinion.
Does it not astound people that no one learns from electioneering in the western world..
Listen to the people.. ask them what they want.. then make a campaign around it using your approach.

how do you free a police from the clutches of politicans or even say local feudal lords, attack the department with the local government, and general populance will decide which person is better for them to provide security to them, the fat ugly constable or the young educated smart constable

Here's the problem... the general populace is also very confused..
remember the one with the Khar family.. how the people in their constituency.. even through they were mistreated like anything.. made it clear that they would still vote for the Khars based on their tradition rather than needs or wants.

US has this law. The difference is that US has its well trained and equipped Police Force, SWAT, FBI, US Marshals, DEA, ATF, Secret Service, etc. to deal with any problems.

Pakistan has no such luxury.

This is yet another example of Imran Khan totally being disconnected from reality.

Such populism can make for a successful campaign, but the real test is in being able to deliver result after getting into power.

It is clear what people want: shelter, food, education, health, security and dignity.

How is he going to deliver them once he realizes all the obstacles in achieving them?

The enemies that Pakistan face are not petty criminals but well funded and heavily armed terrorists and insurgents which the police is totally incapable of fighting.

They will either get massacred or turn a blind eye or get bribed as these terrorists roam freely through Pakistan.

police is a force which knows the people well and they have sort of intelligence about each and every guy unlike army who is deployed to bomb the houses, doesnt exactly know the dynamics of the area and of the situation

how do you exactly control the law and order of the specific area, its not just about using artillery when ever the threat arises

we become too much hostile when the role of the british is discussed, but lots of things going into their credit

they made strong police force around the sub continent, the police and not the army was responsible for the people, the established police force in the far flung reaches of the empire like balochistan, how do you think they were able to control this big country for 100s of years, the balochistan, FATA and KPK??

until we have zombie out break or biological situation where the general popolation loses complete control in itself and makes havoc only then army should be deployed
