Imran Khan refused to meet US deputy secretary of state

Common mate couple of days back you guys were opening threads on how India failed by the visit of deputy secretary to both the countries.

Cannot deny the fact that US favour India over Pakistan and sees India is a strategic partner.

Those who deny this are living in fool's paradise. Pakistan is much smaller than India, also doesn't offer what US wants which is anti China alliance. So Pakistan is of little use to US.

Sorry to say but spineless can't do jack in today's world except for optics and speeches... we are DEPENDENT on Americans from Trade to IMF to mil frontline fighter support.... we must get rid of this IMF shit and every single thing headed by the amereekans

We also look at our own interests. Is the US going to invest 80+ billion dollars in infrastructure and other meaningful projects? The answer is plain and simple no. The Americans have spent money to bribe officials over the past two decades. That is also their loss.

The Americans can beg all day long, but not one of their demands will be met. That is the simple truth. The US is an Indian ally. Pakistan is a China ally. American officials are wasting their time by paying visits to Pakistan. Americans love to pretend that they are in control. The Americans are not in control. We saw that for 20 years in Afghanistan.

Exactly, that's the thing both have nothing "meaningful" to offer each other. The expectations of US investing US$50Billion dollars in Pakistan or Pakistan taking on Talibans and giving free hand/bases to US is impossible.

Such talks are futile. Totally useless. At the end of the day we will do whatever our interests dictate. Only a cave dweller would still argue that Pak interests align with US interests. They simply don't.

I am baffled at the useless visit by the American official. There is no justification nor any pretext for a visit. In my mind the Americans only came to further request for military bases. That is the only logical explanation for this otherwise utterly useless visit. Nothing more nothing less.

Whatever some posters post here the reality is that Pakistan's relations with the US are of utmost importance. The protocol must be followed and US Deputy Secretary of State met with Pakistani Foreign Minister.

LOL you have truly been absent all these years. Explain to us exactly what importance US Pakistan relations have in modern day history. Even Afghanistan is now a lost war for the US. Afghanistan used to be the only avenue where our relations had some relevance.

Oh, btw the only topic that was discussed during the visit was yet again Afghanistan. Is that a coincidence by any chance? We can deny the reality, but the US views Pakistan through Indian, Afghan and Chinese lens. All US interaction with Pakistan always revolves around third countries. The US never had a Pakistan centric policy. India crafts Pak policy in Washington. Indian think tanks shape Pakistan policy. Not American officials. The US doesn't even have an ambassador in Pakistan. If that is what you term an important relationship I am truly baffled. Some of us are living in a different universe. The Cold War is long over.

It is madness that the army chief meets with civilian foreign diplomats. He can in joint sessions with others, but never in a one on one basis. This has to change for the sake of the military institution.

The Pak military needs some serious overhaul. Not a doubt in my mind.

Prime Minister does not meets a Lower Rank civilian worker unless he has time
Was Suprised to see General Bajwa sitting with her , army should have not bothered for such visit

Should have let our Human Rights Representative Shery Mazari to meet her

LOL Dude. Read the writing on the wall. It says we won in Afghanistan and you lost.

Your daddy can pay visits to Pakistan all year long. Certain things simply won't change. Now stop living in lalaland.
Ofcourse you are winning in Afghanistan, it's time pakistan as a state accept that You won in Afghanistan and recognise Afghanistan, unfortunately your pm is not sure and asking others to recognise the new Afghan govt.

Hope your pm gets that one phone call for all the countries achievements.

No need to.
But hey she still got to meet the default most powerful man in Pakistan the COAS....

So she went from "we will be going for a specific reason" to discussing "regional and global challenges".

It is interesting how much of the Indian press didn't believe her when she said the piece in India.
They're at least being honest to themselves i.e. Pakistan is the only avenue they have left in the region.
