Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday launched a mega electricity project in Kalam, Swat.

While addressing the media, Imran Khan said the project will have a power generation capacity of 84MW and will cost Rs.20 billion.

The PTI chief said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has started six electricity projects in the province, for which 72 companies took part in the bidding process.

“No provincial government has launched a project on such a mega scale before,” Khan said.

He further said that corruption in Pakistan is dissuading potential investors from investing in the country.

“Society prospers when corruption is overcome. Investments are not coming in because of corruption,” Khan claimed.

He added that he would eradicate corruption within 90 days if he is elected to lead the country.

He asserted that the chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) should be in jail for not catching Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on 13 cases of alleged corruption.

All these politicians who were nothing in the past are billionaires today, he claimed, adding that this is a system of injustice which destroys great nations and this is the biggest challenge.

Taking aim at the federal government, Khan said the federal government is prospering merely in advertisements.

20 billion for 84 MW. Thats double the price for larger plants being built under cpec per MW for 1/20 th of capacity.....
The total life cost of the project will turn this project cheap because it will have very low running cost. On the other hand, lng based or coal based or diesel or oil based plant have running cost i.e., too high for pakistani consumers.

So it will be cost effective in 50 years... for 1/20th of capacity....fantastic... planner desrves a noble prize[
