The report said that Khan took this step in order to help clear the debts incurred by his political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, after the 2002 parliamentary elections. “It took me a year to clear the debts the party had incurred during the elections. I cleared our last remaining debts in an unusual way; I was with my family in England, and my brother-in-law, Ben Goldsmith, kept asking me about what would happen in an England versus South Africa Test match. I discovered his interest came from his ‘spread-betting’ on the game."

“I decided to watch the match, and that every Pound he made after recovering the £10,000 lost would go towards clearing my party’s debt,” writes the cricketer-turned-politician in his recently-published book, Pakistan: A Personal History. British millionaire, Ben, is the brother of Jemima Goldsmith. Jemima married Imran in 1995 but they got divorced in 2004. In spread betting, the pay-off is based on the accuracy of the bet, rather than a simple “win” or “loss” result.

“I have never gambled in my life and have never understood its attraction, but now for the sake of clearing my party’s debts, I watched the Test match with Ben for the next two days, telling him what to do and when,” Imran further elaborates in his book. At one point, the bookie asked, “Mr Goldsmith, you don’t happen to be sitting with your brother-in-law, do you?”

By calling someone by names and passing derogatory remarks about any leader will not get you anywhere…, Old or New.., PTI have to answer that fundamental question that why IK needs to play gambling with his or someone else money bcz IK aspired to become a public leader and everything he said or do will be answerable in public.

By conducting social and welfare work didn’t means ones got a license to indulge in gambling or any other ethically wrong activities. Isn’t it?

It is not the matter of defame a leader, It is the matter of FACT and shared by your own leader in his book. I am unable to understand how you are claimining a single vote as IK vote Bank. General elections are coming ahead and trust we are not sure about their participation just like in Bi-Election of PP220 in which they dont dare to participate.

I am not an Islamic jurist so I dont know if giving tips comes under same as serving wine equal to drinking wine, as per Islamic laws nor do I know if giving tips comes same as lying for greater good or not.

Imran khan gambled in 1992 world cup for the win of Pakistan, as Mian Dada told him about two players being sold out on defeat, so in order to win he gambled on twice as what the two players had soldout themselves for, as per his own article when sarfraz nawaz started doing propaganda against Imran khan.

as far as gambling tips are concern I think he didnt give it for his own pleasure or personal greed, but for the sake of his party' debt. if its a sin, its between him and Allah, he didnt harm anyone by his action.
