“Operation Megh Rahat” to the Rescue
September 7, 2014

The Army in the Northern Command has launched ‘Operation Megh Rahat’ in which over 185 relief columns have been employed. The Army has successfully evacuated more than 11,500 people to safer places.

It has also provided food, shelter and medicines to more than 5000 people of the state.

Tiger Division of the Rising Star Corps, in a proactive manner in Jammu District, has established six Relief Camps, at Paragwal, Rajpur, Gagharial, Sohanjana, Hazi Naka and Makwal, and has launched 20 columns to help and rescue stranded civilians in these flood affected areas.

Formation Commanders and Commanding Officers of Tiger Division, along with their teams, have been personally supervising the rescue operations. Paragwal Sector has been the worst affected where over 3000 civilians have been rescued and shifted to safe areas. Over 800 civilians have also been rescued from other flood affected areas around Jammu. Army helicopters have also assisted BSF, in relocation of their troops to safe areas in the vicinity of International border. Air operations by the Indian Air Force are still continuing.

General Officer Commanding, 16 Corps also addressed a press conference today where he highlighted the major achievements of the Army stating that 10 Relief Camps were started and 08 relief camps are presently functioning. Aid is being rendered to 1500 – 2000 people. Four thousand blankets and one thousand tents are being also handed over to the civil administration. 52 dead bodies have been recovered by the Army as on date. Road connectivity in particular connectivity to the villages is of paramount importance.

The situation in Jammu & Kashmir is worst due to Floods . Many People died in the worst floods in Jammu and Kashmir in nearly six decades and army joined the relief operations as situation turned grim in the state where the deluge has wreaked havoc, damaging roads, dozens of bridges and buildings and crops. As many as 2 lakh peoples were rescued from flash-floods in various areas by teams of the army and the Indian Air Force teams. A great work by Indian Armies. May God Bless all there.

We've a CM in Kashmir who's democratically elected by Kashmir people and whoever as a PM in Kashmir are completing 4 year terms.. and when there's next election people go to poll their votes. there're only very few nut cases who're paid and supported by Pakistan is causing trouble whether you accept or not that's the fact and the whole world knows it.. that's the one of the reason even you close Saudi doesn't favor you in Kashmir issue....

Dude... all the problem in kashmir were started by Pakistan in revenge to 1971 even most of the pakistani members here agree that.. Why do we need to hold a referendum when ordinary /kashmiri people live in peace and walk into election booth to select their own leaders... that meant they accepted the democracy of India. There's no illegal settlements when we legally own the land.

Fact 1: It was the Pak army and marauding Pashtun raiders who first invaded the sovereign Kingdom of Kashmir, against the will of its population.

Fact 2: At that point, the legitimate ruler of Kashmir asked India for help to stop further pillaging and looting, and acceded legally to the Union of India.

Fact 3: The first condition for referendum agreed to in that year, was the withdrawal of all Pakistani forces from Pak occupied Kashmir. Do that, and then talk about referendum.

Fact 4: 65 years have passed since then, and many things have changed. Pakistan who kept trying to steal our Kashmir got broken in two. Meanwhile India built instituions and infrastructure and democratic governance structures in Kashmir, paid for by the toil and sweat of Indian taxpayers, and also defended the territory with our blood and treasure from greedy neighbours.

Fact 5: In light of the above facts, we now have no intention whatsoever of doing any referendum on our sovereign territory, just to please jealous Pakistanis who have realized finally that they are incapable of stealing Kashmir from us.

Inference:
1) Kashmir is and will remain Indian. You can do nothing about that.
2) Kashmir will continue to thrive and prosper safely because of being part of the Indian union, as evidenced by the news and images presented in this thread. They are much better off being part of India, as even the seperatists know today. Without India, they would have perished in natural calamities, not to mention the nefarious designs of greedy neighbours.

Jammu & Kashmir is occupied by brutal force & J & K will be liberated from Indian occupation in future by Pak army. Kargil operation wasnt planned proparly, army want onboard except Musharraf & 2 more generals. Neither Pak air force nor pak navy knew anything about this operation. Neither did wast part of pakistani land army, they knew first when operation was started. If this operation was better planned Indian army would be out of J & K now.

I am sure J & K will be liberated in future....
