I wouldn't bother responding to the likes of a grossly misguided person that seems to be completely unaware of the reality on the ground, but you've just annoyed me. Only we can handle the situation, and that is what we are doing. There is no question of abandoning them, because there is no "them" - just us and our people. The title was a sarcastic reminder, in case you did not realize.

India has declared a national emergency, and NDRF teams and doctors and police and army columns from across the country have been dispatched to save the Kashmiris. Our people's lives are important to us, whether in Uttarakhand or Kashmir - you ought to wonder about your country, and why the scale of recovery is not even close to what India is undertaking, despite more areas of Pak being affected.

We are perfectly capable of rescuing our countrymen, and do not simply sit back and wail about it or throw up our hands in despair and victimhood.

Second,why is it that you understand the meaning of the word collateral damage when it comes to Pakistan but get biased when it comes to India ? I am willing to talk sense to a person to whom that makes sense.

And to all of you Indians. Why don't you hold a referendum in Kashmir. Not about joining India, or Pakistan. Just ask them if they support the Indian army or not.

Obviosuly the title was targetted towards Pakistanis, who keep blabbering that Indian army is killing Kashmiris by the millions, and that all Kashmiris hate the IA. The fact of the matter is that the IA and other national forces and resources are seen as a godsend by Kashmiris. They are our people, we are theirs. Our identity is not merely of Kashmiri/Bihari?Tamilian or hindu/muslim/sikh - the overarching identity is Indian, and the burning priority right now is saving Indian lives, be they of any religion or ethnicity.
