agree
elders are good as long as they mean well, not so good once they put on their Khap masks and bring the cane out
but no, even with the monies, I think the elders thing is deeply engrained, sometimes even to people's own detriment.
we will evolve, not ape.
Then the question should have been about the religion, not caste. How would you justify religious angle in here anyway? Is he going to get away with what he did if he successfully convinces the court that being Muslim he intended to do Halal?
1. Hindus CAN, its Indian constitution which prevents Hindus. I have said this earlier. you are just too stupid or lazy to understand it when I say in only once.
2. Law was CHANGED in 1955 to prevent more than 1 wife for Hindus.
3. A Hindu with a wife converts to islam, marries a second time, and then converts back to Hinduism. What part of this do you not understand ? Do I have to replete everything 2 times for you grasp it ?
You said the following absurd stuff:
Why can't he be a Hindu & a Muslim at the same time ? ............ Who issues that certificate ?
And with your -18 negatives that I did not see, makes you a perfect candidate for my ignore list.
I've seen cases, including where people, fully in control of substantial financial assets have caved to societal or family pressure when it comes to inter-religious unions. No one care if elders mean well or is out to ruin our lives. People value their INDEPENDENCE, and that comes from either being RICH or having Courage. Both are rare.
Farhan Akhtar is an atheist I reckon, read somewhere Javed Akhar raised his children as atheist. What's your point anyway?
yes, it's possible in India if you must.. sarv dharm sambhavA man can be a practising muslim and a practising Hindu at the same time.

but there are many where things go smooth, or people take extreme measures and full bollywood style elope etc
and you'll find very ultra conservatives even within the monied, educated and urban population but this is changing, 'Hinduism' is also constantly evolving.. no set in stone 'commandments', list of 'haram' etc, right ?
He was asked about his religion..
Salman Khan hit the right note today when a court in Jodhpur asked him about his religion.
After some thought, he answered: "Hindu and Muslim".
Salman Khan pleaded 'not guilty' in an arms case being heard at the Jodhpur court.
Before recording Salman's statement, Chief Judicial Magistrate Anupama Bijlani asked him his name, father's name, profession and other details required by the court's form.
Salman answered everything, but was left confused when the court asked about his religion.
As the actor looked puzzled, his counsel and bodyguard, someone from the crowd suggested he say 'Muslim.'
The actor appeared in the court to record his statement in the case. As part of the process, Khan was required to answer questions about his father’s name, profession and caste.
The court witnessed an interesting exchange when the judge asked Khan to state his caste. Khan was confused by the judge’s question and someone in the court suggested he should say he was a Muslim.

it's a south asian (Hind) cultural thing, not religious but for some people it's all about gotra and this and that and religion, changing slowly. What is the point of being in control of financial assets but living in a society or economic community that will not let you leverage that assets. Hinduism has nothing to do with this. As long as its dharmic, Hinduism does not interfere.
In the creative sector/field where your mind and attitude have to be more open, you will find larger acceptance of all kinds of diversity.

'vedic' society was way more evolved, something all the recent 'vedic' mania somehow misses.
The new sect, Hindu Muslim.
