Most wanted terrorist leader reportedly killed in U.S. drone strike in Pakistan ​

ISLAMABAD, June 4 (Xinhua) -- A local media on Saturday quoted a BBC report as saying that Ilyas Kashmiri, one of the five terrorist leaders mosted wanted by the United States, was killed in a U.S. drone strike launched late Friday night in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of South Waziristan.

Late Friday night, at about 11:40, the news came in that the U. S.drones fired three missiles at a four-room house in the Wana area of South Waziristan, killing nine suspected militants inside the house.

One of the people killed in the strike later proved to be Ilyas Kashmiri, whose name is on a list of five most wanted terrorist leaders handed over to the Pakistani side by the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her one-day surprise visit to Pakistan on May 27.

Pakistani Prime Minister, while being asked by local media to confirm the report,n said he had no such information about this.

New Delhi: Ilyas Kashmiri, one of the most-dreaded Al Qaeda leaders, has reportedly been killed in a US drone strike in Pakistan.

According to a BBC Urdu report, Kashmiri was among those killed in the latest drone strikes in South Waziristan area of the country.

Kashmiri headed the 313 brigade, an operational arm of Al Qaeda. He was also wanted by India in connection with Mumbai blast case.

Kashmiri's name also featured in a list of terrorists handed over to Pakistan by the US last month, seeking immediate intelligence information on them. It reportedly also wanted Pakistan to possibly target these terrorists in joint operations.

If we were not serious about hindu extremism, we wont be arresting them.

Drone strike news has confirmed in S. Waziristan but who is killed exactly still not confirmed.
