IISc, IIT-Bombay in Top 30 as Indian Universities Move Up in Global Rankings

With tough regulations, and a bit of funding in infrastructure and resources, Indian institutions can do wonders. Another big favor will be to remove reservations from higher graduation and post graduation education levels.
Its not just the official polity thats needed, a complete ecosystem wherein our (any) problems are dealt with by our educational institutions will improve our rankings and numbers exponentially.

.
hahahah you think that ranking is based on buildings?. There are more Indian 'leaders' beause Indian can talk well, in India there are 9 talkers/managers to 1 worker, in China it's the opposite. That's why you can have CEOs, but half a billion still shit in the open and 300mil is still starving. :enjoy:
and u think ranking is based on English?

. .
The truth is that China is a shadow civilization of India and was influenced by India for millenniums. Neither China nor any other country can compete with India is educations. We have seen 50% rise in top educational institutions of the world in just one year. Within next 2 decades, we shall have more than 50% of world's top education institutions. For us, things have taken a bit long to be on track whether it is economy or educational institutions. Knowledge is highest virtue in our culture. We shall excel and excel. China will remain a mediocre country so far as education is concern.
Have you been to China, seen our culture? We might have assimilated Buddhism for it's ideas which ironically Hindus destroyed due to Buddha's teaching against casteism and inequality. The Chinese mentality is totally different from India, the whole East Asia thinks differently. We are an action/results based race, we despised talking alot and not getting things done. Indians adore orators like Modi. See the difference? That's why Indians produce talkers, managers, CEOs, we produce the people who build the country. :enjoy:

Look at the IQ ratings, your population is highly skewed with the upper caste dominating the remaining 99% dumb blackies. China is mostly homogenous, and measured as a whole, Indian IQ is much lower than East Asians.

and u think ranking is based on English?
It is partly based on English, we need to translate the papers to English to get better ranking. But my point is not about the ranking, my point is despite having so little non-native speakers, we are doing so well. Imagine if we are taught in English, Indian IT industry would be decimated. :enjoy:

Respectfully i would like to disagree, Chinas achievement are her own, suitable and modelled by thier local conditions (historical, geographical, etc). Ours modelled to suit our own needs. Recognising others achievement does not downplay ours. We should study China, adapt her strenghts (wherever applicable) and avoid her mistakes. Nationalistic fervour, while appreciated will not further our scientific cause

This is the type of Indian I fear.

Nothing new, there are many examples of students getting rejected from IITs but getting into Ivy Leagues with scholarships. One example is Narayan Murthy's son, studying in Cornell.

True,

Rejected IIT students goes to Harwars, MIT and other top universities of the world who are proud of having such brilliant students.

This is the level of IITs of India. They may not have the sufficient budget to match many Chinese and western Universities but the level of brilliance of students is much higher compared to anywhere else.

In my opinion therein lies the crux, I would like more passouts to become ceos, innovators in India rather than outside. Our pool of talented innovators is quite large, the commercial ecosystem here cannot accomodate them all.

Where do I de-recognize? China will be ahead of many western countries in education but will remain much behind India. I see Iran and Indonesia rising like anything. It is all about culture. I can not see any other country matching India is education for any foreseeable time. Though they may build big institute and get ranking but so far as education is concern, no country in the world can match India.

One study has revealed that by 2030, all countries in the world will have the shortage of skill manpower including China, US and all European countries. Only India will have 25 million surplus skilled manpower.

Ignore that guy, hes just butthurt what happens when level playing field is given:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_groups_in_the_United_States_by_household_income

Just 60% of Indian American. This is really Interesting.

The India you speak of(education sector) is the India I want it to be. Statistically (research papers, think tanks etc) we are quite behind. I say this not to disparrage our standing, but as a mission statement of where we as a country are, and what needs to done to rise to the top.

Even we are behind in Literacy rate and among the top education Institution list as well. We are catching up fast and we have surpassed all in education. That is what I just say.

A nations inherent strength and weaknesses do not necessarily determine the outcome, its what we do with them that matters.

Our policy towards this massive potential, and other countries response to such a shortage would be more impactful.

We are higher than 'Jewish American'? I am kinda proud. So the question is how come with such high incomes, half a billion Indians are still shitting in the open, 300 million are still starving and Indian is a big shit hole? These Indians are the top 1% I was talking about, the elites of India, the remaining 99% is living in a shithole. A majotiry of them are of higher caste, these Iranian hybrids created Hinduism to control the other 99% blackies.

That's just life, you will realize these researchers can write good English maybe with the help of spell checker?, the problem is their speech, they don't converse much in English. We can create technology using our own language, it's the advantage we have. So it's either you become a colonial stooge, or you bring your civilization together as you progress. Most Chinese choose their race.

Mate...You don't sound like a Chinese.....using words bhai, using z instead of s, picking on Hindus of India etc etc.... Besides, the way your counter-arguments are laced with bragging, black humour and insulting your opponent...it just not like a Chinese.

Shù qǐyòu qí bìng tíngzhǐ wèizào.

The top 0.0001% of applicants are supposed to be better than the top 1%, what has being an Indian or a Chinese got anything to do with that?
IITs are good because of a massively skewed demand-supply mismatch amongst other factors of lesser influence.
I think you are exaggerating our strengths

What you are saying is false. I can argue on that but I leave it just because it is a lengthy discussion and I do not have a mood to enter into it.
