Yeah well, a good third of my knowledge on general engg + aerospace materials that I use for my job...was first taught to me by Chinese lady prof who initially graduated from Tsinghua (she is one of the top 10 experts in her research field in Canada I would say)... so I personally know it to not be the case. Statistics are often garbage on a lot of these "education things"...if you dismiss PISA validity, you cannot simply say something else is now core valid suddenly.
Chinese americans have been around in US for longer in larger numbers (if you know about say the US railroad industry in 19th century for example)... than Indian-Americans have, so of course their prevalence rates will have normalised a bit more towards the American average with time...compared to say more recent elite immigration from India.
