Russian Helicopters, part of State Corporation Rostec, signed an agreement on control of certified repairs with Iran Helicopter Support and Renewal Company (IHSRC) at the 8th International Airshow on Kish Island, Iran.
The document is another step for the Russian and Iranian sides on expansion of after-sales service of helicopters produced in Russia, which operate in Iran. Previously, Russian Helicopters approved the roadmap for retrofitting the Mi-17 maintenance and overhaul center in Iran.
"The agreement between Russian Helicopters and IHSRC on the control of certified repairs allows to set cooperation terms and to define mutual obligations while preparing the company for authorization and certification to conduct repairs and modernization of Russian helicopters in Iran. We and our Iranian colleagues continue active work on the Russian helicopters maintenance center in Iran with a possibility to add it to our affiliate program. In 2016, Russian Helicopters held a technical audit of PANHA plant and agreed on a plan for further development and retrofits. In the near future we are planning to submit proposals to the Iranian side on technical documentation and necessary equipment,"- said Russian Helicopters Deputy CEO for Aftersales Service Igor Chechikov.
The authorized repair center in Iran is being created to provide customers with quality and timely maintenance. The opening of the center at IHSRC will help improve performance of the Russian rotorcraft operated in Iran and will increase helicopter flight safety.
At present, Mi-17s are the most popular Russian helicopters in Iran. Almost the entire model range of this type of helicopters is in use there, including Mi-17s, Mi-171s, Mi-171Es, Mi-8 MTVs and Mi-17V-5s.
