The MEPRO M5 seen on a Tavor rifle. Source: Meprolight
The Israeli optics company Meprolight has said it will deliver "thousands" of its MEPRO M5 weapon sights to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from December.
The M5 red dot sight is designed for 'both-eyes-open' shooting and can be used with magnification devices and night-vision goggles. Meprolight says it can function for thousands of hours on a single AA battery.
A company source told IHS Jane's that the IDF with continue to use its existing MEPRO 21 sights, which require no batteries, alongside the new M5s as the combination provides an "optimal solution".
