Date: February 22, 2021 The

pavilion of Halcon, one of the companies listed under the UAE Defense Technology Group , attracted attention through the company’s pavilion, which presented a group of jet engines, during the first day of the IDEX exhibition. A woman from the United Arab Emirates, among the group that designed and implemented the jet engines project, she is the mechanical engineer Aisha Salem Al-Numani, one of the workers of Halcon Company and a graduate of the United Arab Emirates University.
Aisha Salem explained that the project consists of jet engines used in launching missiles and planes, and she is one of a team of three engineers, noting that she is one of the implementers of the project, which was completely completed in the Emirates.
She stated that the work team has implemented and designed three types of jet engines, which are designed for missiles and weapons, which need these types of engines, and unmanned aircraft.

She indicated that the idea of the project came with the aim of supplying the UAE defense system, and providing it with powerful engines, and that these engines are the first of their kind in the Middle East, and that the work team aspires to make the UAE the first Arab country to manufacture such advanced engines.

It seems they also bought the Denel Cheetah missile IP? Interesting concept similar to Iron Dome imo.

@JamD it wouldn't surprise me if companies in the UAE start going after engineering graduates in Pakistan.

It would depend on how open the Emiratees are about allowing foreign nationals in these places. There's quite a few Pakistani engineers and specialists working in Saudi Arabia (that I know personally).

I saw experts from South Africa working at Halcon on their Linkedin.

If the UAE moves towards naturalization, this might not be a problem (albeit they'd induct South Asians through a gradual process before they assign them to top security projects). Plus, I don't think our "spymasters" are a threat in terms of industrial espionage or the like; too busy with 9G hybrid warfare.

New rocket artillery revealed at IDEX 2019 from Halcon. 250km range?

...Regarding the participation of women in designing and manufacturing defense machines and military equipment, she said: There are now many Emirati girls in this field, who hold technical specializations in mechanics and artificial intelligence, and unlike past years, in which there were few female graduates of these specialties, confirming that the girl The UAE has become a difficult number, and it is currently participating in most of the delicate technologies, whether defensive or related to the space sector, and that the first goal is to serve the state and create young national cadres of females and males, in line with the state’s orientations and empowering women..

@The SC @Gomig-21
Interesting right? This could be a good development for the Egyptian and other navies allied to the UAE.

Is it true what that guy was saying about Halcon that it's only been around for a year? A year and it has already produced all these missiles and missile systems? If that's true, there's hope for almost anyone out there. You still need lots of capital, a lot of capable engineers etc., but to produce all that stuff in a single year is unreal.

Saeed Al Mansoori, CEO of HALCON said: “Our focus on smart capabilities continue to deepen as we produce world-class products locally. The HAS-250 is a significant advancement in our quest to equip naval forces with the highest performing cruise missile system. Designed and developed by HALCON in the UAE, this weapon will assist in the active defence of the UAE’s water ways, and build on EDGE’s expanding reputation for being bold, agile, and disruptive.

HALCON is part of the Missiles & Weapons cluster within EDGE, an advanced technology group for defence that ranks among the top 25 military suppliers in the world.

Not 1 year, a few years and it came from a company called something else but changed forms. Yeah, it takes a lot of capital and engineers which they seem to be able to acquire in large quantities. They have been hiring a lot of ex Denel employees who have worked on past missile projects mainly in the 80s and 90s.
