Very common to see pakistanis and Bangladeshis running "Indian" restaurants confined to "Punjabi" food.
Lot to do with acceptability of Indian food and soft power India carries which these guys leeches on.

It's got nothing to do with soft power or perceptions.

Simply speaking, its Pakistanis and Bangladeshis accepting their identity away from the hostile glare of social media and forum wars.

They remain Indians. Who broke away for political expediency.

I once asked a restaurant owner the same thing and he said that its a marketing strategy to get more customers. Remember there are over a billion Indians and you find them around the world and people have an understanding what kind of food to expect as its so similar.

It is not that simple. Many Pakistanis do add Indo/Indian to their establishment names to fit in.

I have been to a few Pakistani restaurants here myself. The clientele is mostly Pakistani. Majority of the Indians hate enough to avoid Pakistani restaurants.

Indians dont avoid grocery shop that much knowing the owner is Pakistani.

Taste is good. Not extraordinarily different to Indian. Some unique dishes (Nehari, etc). Servings are even bigger I would say.

You should try Chapli kebeb and haleem.

Havent tried Haleem. Will give it a go.

Have had Chapli Kebab. Really yum.

Have made it at home a few times too - Laziza brand masala
