Idea of transit through China to Afghanistan

This thread is to discuss the possibility of transit through China for Indian Goods to reach Afghanistan

1) India has pledged 2 Billion aid to Afghanistan and Planning to invest 10 Billion in mining sector.

2) Recent Karzai visit makes it clear that Afghanistan want India as a partner in building his Nation.

3) A stable Afghanistan will allow India to Interact with the resource rich Central Asian countries well.

4) India - Afghanistan trade corridor makes both the nations beneficial.

5) China is interested in building trade relationship with India and Indo - China trade will reach 100 Billion in the coming years.

6) China will benefit from the transit fee because of Indo - Afgan trade corridor.

India need a stable trade corridor to ensure safe passage of goods from central Asia to India and vice versa. China can provide it and in return will benefit from transit fees.

Doing business is always welcomed......Why not transit from Pakistan? a chance to improve relationship with Pakistan? scared of throat being cut in war time？

Reaching Afghanistan from India; the best route is through Pakistan, the second best through Iran, route through China will be way too costly

From the map, Pakistan halt India's gateway to Afganistan. Pakistan is really located in a key strategic location, which is the only path for economic transportation from South Asia to Middle east. We can't say yes to you casue i'm afraid of our Pakistan friend would be unhappy about this. I mean its hard to say, but still a good proposal.

Pakistanis are unpredictable and some radical groups are already threatening their govt. to roll back the MFN status given to India.

all we can see that its India that is seeking benefit . China has access to world markets for its goods and it has virtually dominated these markets so it doesnt need peanut transit fee

Whole region is mountainous, extreme cold and lack of oxygen and dangerous roads, how is possible to construct a transit to Afghanistan via China. Chabahar Port is a better option.

Pakistani sports are your concern,Each Time India went closer to Pakistan it got some terror strike in reply. This unpredictability will make India to look for alternate solutions.
