Idea no.1 for fellow Pakistanis to contribute : Education

1 of the many ideas bouncing around, we have identified about education:

I will be moving posts from the other thread related to education here....

We can then discuss the problems with the systems and plausible solutions!

Brainstorming what PAKISTANI can do about it!

Kmon fellow mates! Think, generate ideas, get excited and contribute!

We might not be able to get everything done but we will know what is happening (problems), what needs to happen and what CAN happen (possible solutions)!

So get them brains running!

This will go here:
Not related to my profession..

If I am given a free hand, I will make a 15-20 year plan and declare education emergency..

1 - Drastic changes in School Syllabus to bring that on par with Singaporean syllabus, or maybe better.. one syllabus across all public private schools, no O Level A Level or foreign board examinations allowed... Introduction of moral education subjects from grade 3. Compulsory education till grade 10 plus compulsory technical education (2 year technical diploma) if someone decides to leave college after grade 10.. Evening technical colleges so that people can earn while getting their technical diplomas/ certificates..

2 - B. Ed program will be equivalent to western countries.. license examinations for teachers... the teachers will have the highest status in the society.. they will get preferential treatment everywhere.. from Public Transport to Grocery Stores.. People will dream of becoming a teacher, a lecturer or a professor..

Moving this to another thread
2: educational suggestion
IK should do agreements with the western countries to accommodate our students in their universities at free of cost. Give scholarships to top ten students of all engineering universities of all departments . Abide them to return back after getting education . Make science city for them for research purpose . They will have to live in the hostels of science city for research as long as they dont get job somewhere in Pakistan.

This belongs here:
Finland has really awesome salary for teachers...no preferential treatment but license and training is really good for pri to secondary school teachers....

.
Going to move these:

Education: The above comment on adopting village/school should cater for this point as it could benefit the community two fold by teaching the kids at school in the day and afternoon/evening classes for the adults/senior citizens which could teach them about new techniques in agriculture as well as other things.
Processing (value add): So after the production of crops, fruits and veg. These should be processed further for either domestic consumption or export. I could name a few things like Tomatoes, Oranges, Mangos, Papaya, Guava etc could be processed into juices, drinks and pulp etc. Pakistan is one of the top 10 producer of Dates but none are sold as premium product. Example could be Medjool dates could easily be cultivated and exported in large quantities but will need attention to detail in production and processing to excellent standard.

Pakistani public university qualified medical doctors will not be allowed to get a passport without reimbursing the subsidy given to them for their medical education or completion of the mandatory 5 year service in rural areas..

This is so important, I cannot stress.

We have to stop the brain drain.

Once KE was one of the prestigious and students dream about to get admission in that institute. Now not aware about it as very rarely heard about it.

I actually got my degree in Microbiology and Chemistry first, worked in a University lab, then went to Medical school.

Geriatric patients, hospice, and disabled patient center experience too.

Also have heavy experience from ER and Emergency medicine management/operations.

Really looking forward to do my part to modernize Pakistan’s healthcare from all levels in which I have knowledge.

When I build up my experience enough where I feel satisfied and save enough money to make a difference, I will come back in sha Allah.

.
I would like to come back to Pakistan, in sha Allah, after a few years after gaining more experience and establishing myself, and work in the medical field/ teach in a medical college.

I have many connections in Pakistan, many of my uncles/family friends are graduates of King Edwards.
That's quite hard and a noble goal you've set yourself up for.
May God grant his blessings on all those whose persue to uplift their brethren.
Have you thought through all the details that would be required to achieve your objectives? . Many times, many give up. A good deed is a thankless job after all.

...Introduction of moral education subjects from grade 3....

Moral education should be the sole focus as soon as kid start talking till grade 3, that's time when personality of a kid is developed. Having good human being is most important thing for nation building.

Alhamdulilah I have many family friends and relatives doing great medical work in Pakistan, esp in Punjab (such as working to help blind, destitute, villagers, orphans.)

I would like to follow in their footsteps.

Inshallah, God willing you will be able to. There's no greater service to God than to help your fellow man.
All the best.

How about training and certification of teachers?
There is some basic training that some O and A level schools provide...but it isnt in par with international levels...

I know of this basic organization: https://www.facebook.com/overseaspakistanieducationistsplatform/

It goes by the name OPEP but it is super inactive...They have meetings and bounce idea but rarely do anything! We have many such organizations :(

So far I know the British council does most of the heavy lifting in this field (some form of unsaid monopoly)

But something "active" running parallel to or taking over this would be useful!

.
I can give them free philosophical lectures.

Can you take a small step? Produce a 5 minutes video (first cut, no edits required, no lighting no background with just acceptable sound) would do the job.

Take it easy, pull your phone out of pocket and record a 5 minutes video and share with us. Can you do?

Education system I'm proposing would need highly educated and intelligent teachers.
