Where Australia won it
  • Did homework on Indian players and pitch
  • Daring decision to bowl first
  • Brilliant field placements
  • Outstanding commitment in the field

Where India lost it
  • Played too conservatively
  • Did not care enough to convert 1s to 2s and 2s to 3s
  • Tail cannot bat at all. Even SKY is not dependable

Australian fielding was top notch
Even under pressure Travis Head played well. Problem with India was that after Rohit everyone crumbled. Kl Rahul and Kohli had a limited partnership but not enough to make a difference.

Sir where india lost the match was after Rohit Sharma, scoring two boundaries in 30 overs is blasphemous. Especially for a side that has home advantage. Also for whom the pitch was prepared. I would call it pressure that made Indian team so timid. It’s not that your middle order is not dependable they just did not get a chance due to your top order playing well during the World Cup.

The Aus bowled well against Indian batsmen.

Slow balls, cutters, slow bouncers. Good field placement.

The pitch was the type that you had to grind for the first few runs and then get your eye in.

  • Lost confidence because BCCI was unable to manipulate the pitch to give a serious advantage.
  • Did not care enough to convert 1s to 2s and 2s to 3s because pitch manipulation was stopped.
  • Tail cannot bat at all. Even SKY is not dependable, neither is the pitch.
Corrected.

Maxwell: It was a bit of a slog (the winning hit) but it feels amazing. I sort of resigned to the fact that I wouldn't have to bat but Heady got out but what a win! It's a bit different when you're watching Heady taking on Bumrah. Marnus soaked up the pressure and was outstanding. Heady with his ball-striking was second to none.

Hazlewood: I think it's bigger than [2015 World Cup victory]. Great crowd, Indian fans are second to none. Tonight, we put it together when it counts.

Warner: Our bowlers were fantastic and they set the tone from ball one. The fielding again supported that. Look, there was a bit of nervous energy in the dressing room, but fantastic partnership between Heady and Marnus.

Smith: It's incredible and yeah it was just a great performance. The bowlers set the tone and the fielding was great this evening. Took the game on and kept playing to our strengths. Wasn't the ideal start for us, but we had the belief. Fortunately, we were able to do that and Australia typically plays well in those [big] moments. Big year for us, also winning the Test Championship.

Starc: He [Cummins] was phenomenal and he has been phenomenal all tournament. It capped off an unbelievable eight weeks for this group. To win a World Cup in India...bloody successful and bloody enjoyable.

Never seen an Indian so happy when his team lost in the final with a manipulated pitch and home advantage lol. Abhi tumhe pakistan hi yaad araha hai? Australia kab ayay ga jo tumhari baja gayay.
All your fantasies of invented "manipulation" . There was NONE. NO TEAM EVEN INTIMATED THAT THERE IS ANY KIND OF MANIPULATION except in the mind of perpetual losers like Pakistan.
Pakistan are life's losers always whining about how unfair and manipulated everything is.

Congratulations Australia. Today belonged to you and you demonstrated why Aussies are number one in so many sports.
