The most important aspect in all of this is PCAA is not maintaining it's standards, and it needs major reforms to improve the quality and merit of the license it issues.

Yes it happened on supreme court orders before, didn't it? These political labour unions filled up the posts again with more political appointees.
If it had been happening for eternity why still PIA have so many fake degree holders?

I think this is an issue of big mouth PTI Minister who screwed the PIA, its pilots and reputation of Pakistan. Apni izzat khud bejjat karayi.

PMIK too has crossed limits and owned up things that hurts when FATA came calling.

Why not allow only genuine pilots to fly. What is needed is Pilot as per the international norms and not cover up.

They could have fixed the issues stealthily. The pilots are already flying for years. Get them into some mandatory short term certifications ( unless you think them as PPP appointees and want to replace them with PTI guys) and plug the gaps. With Accidents around the world and with knowledge, which country people will wabt to travel PIA now.


I think Air India and PIA are resources for bureaucracy and Politicians misuse. India is pushing for Privatization and so should Pakistan. No tax payers hard earned money to subsidize them. Govt should frame laws and govern and not get into running airlines or manufacturing shoes, scooters watches.

Use the tax payers money to build and run hospitals, colleges, police stations, infra for judiciary.....not to pay for to these bleedings bureaucracy tiols to enjoy.

Now the only recent article you quoted in your previous comment, says what I am trying to tell you.

They could have fixed the issues stealthily. The pilots are already flying for years. They tried to do it but the lobby is powerful, these political labour unions enjoy judicial support from politicized judges in higher courts.

Even Senate which is currently held by corrupt opposition which backs these unions have stopped from taking action against these fake appointees. These are the parties which took money and appointed them in the 1st place. They have fixed corruption monetary quota that they give to parties against their appointment.

PIA failed due decades of political intervention that demerited standards of admission, performance and operational capability. Pilot license was just one of the issues the not the core issue.

PIA lost passengers due to sub par service...

now on fake pilots, most of them are not fake. what was fake about them was the constant certification needed to be done.

now keep in mind the average piloting standard in Pakistan is vastly superior than any indian.

Indian pilots have the distinction of hilariously stupid operational behavior every thing from landing military helo in a Pakistani base to surrendering fully armed jet.... and yes indian commercial pilots have their fair share of fake certifications too.
