Why does IAF like to have such aircraft names?

I think Mosquito exists also right?

Aircraft’s are named by its manufacturer not by the organisation that buys it.

Mosquito was a WW 2 aircraft made by de Haviland , unique as it was made of wood.

The Virus was owned by the flying club not the IAF
