Why do u want to explain so much??? no matter what u say only one thing would be said we indians cannot do anything right, LCA is failure and it is not indigenous i am really fed up u know hearing about this so many times, our guys explaining and the others saying it is not in a single sentence and we loosing our cool:what:

Problem with India is that, you will find 99 who will believe you that, LCA is delayed, LCA is failure. But only 1 will think logically and see how DRDO has done better than Swedish design houses who has full access to western R&D and not under sanctions.

Also delays myths are creation of stupid desi media who know Zero about how many decades other countries took to develop similar aircrafts.

Now the second part.

The Chinese certified their turbofan WS-10, which is superior to Kaveri in 2006 and had 4 years of problems. In the best scenario, the Kaveri would be certified by 2012, and struggles will continue until 2015.

So in terms of "lessons learned" for Tejas, it's a jump from 1st to 4th gen as Indians couldn't design second gen planes nor produce first-gen turbojets for Marut.

How about you? Did you designed JF-17/R-33/project-33 / Mig-33 / Mig-35d or Junk-10/ Lavi or J-11/Su-27 ?

I want to be that one in hundred. However, I have not got enough reasons to believe that it had to be delayed to this extent. For example, India is having a good understanding of Su30 MKI, has good military and defense ties with Israel, France and for that matter US. If a problem cannot be solved because of technology denialfrom one country, why not ask Russia/others for assistance module by module, system by system. Time delays in critical projects like the LCA atleast now is unacceptable.

You should do some research before claiming baseless stuff.

If you are comparing a home-made 85mm mortar gun with imported 155mm gun and claiming that your 155mm is better, then you are comparing apples and oranges. You should compare 85mm gun with a 85mm gun only.

Clam down!! I was comparing Tejas with other 4.5 generation fighter like Gripen NG, F-16IN or Mig-35. So before posting, use to read the whole post. How LCA's range and payload are near to them? :confused:

So, you claim that other countries did it faster than DRDO?

Ok, then lets compare LCA development and testing timeframe with a similar aircraft from other countries.

Show me one aircraft similar to LCA from your western favourites, which completed its development and testing phase, within less than 15 years.

Also, I am not expecting you to admit DRDO did it better because I know where you come from.

Actually, it was IAF's immaturity that they were expecting someone to design and deliver a 4th Gen. aircraft within 10 years. Such mentality is very typical of IAF which has a habit of armchair decision-making and ego issues with Indian scientists. Arjun MBT blunder is already a big blot on integrity of armed services.

Even the first gen spare engines were made by Rolls Royce. The Chinese certified their turbofan WS-10, which is superior to Kaveri in 2006 and had 4 years of problems. In the best scenario, the Kaveri would be certified by 2012, and struggles will continue until 2015.

Even Chinese couldn't built engine for J-10 when it came into service though they had designed 2nd and third generation fighters? What is the logic here? Than why so much similarity between WS-10A and Al-31F?

Forget the western world. I am a fan of Russia and Israel when it comes to defense systems.

We have easily consumed more time than anticipated by people building LCA. So is the problem with estimates ? The estimates have been revised time and time again. India will lose credibility if the cycle continues.

They are not in same weight class. You are comparing apples with oranges.

Show me an aircraft in LCA's class and then we can compare.

Also, all of these aircraft programmes(Gripen,f-16,Mig-35) were based on 4 decades of aircraft design experience. They are not new or from scratch. Also, Gripen had full access to Western R&D.

Show me one aircraft which started from scratch just like LCA did. Then we can compare their development and testing timeframe.


Before ranting, do some research.

People building LCA had to hype the timeframe during 1980's to fool the mundane IAF to support the LCA programme because if IAF said "no" to domestic aircraft R&D(similar to their decision in 1960's, 70's), Govt. would divert those funds to Russian imports.

So, show me example of how LCA is delayed compared to similar western/eastern programmes?

I was not trying to undermine Tejas but defending it. I was comparing Tejas with F-16IN, Mig-35 and Gripen NG. If I compare Marut with F-22 what is holding you? No more reply to you. :wave:

Don't make a fool of yourself by assuming.

I just compared the achievement of ISRO and DRDO as the technology and complexity of what they deal with on a day to day basis is similar. You have used the words, rant, talk big, etc but do realize that you are the one who is doing that. I have not made a single personal remark and you have made it a point to say this again and again.

Its a fashion to bash DRDO nowadays.

For many Indians in Western countries, its considered "cool" to bash India or Indian stuff.
