ISLAMABAD:

In a bid to achieve self-sufficiency in the energy sector, the provincial government is in the process of establishing a refinery in Kohat.

The refinery, which will have a capacity to process 200,000 barrels oil per day (bpd), would cost around Rs35 billion. “The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Oil and Gas Company Limited and a Russian consortium of investors have recently reached an agreement to set- up the refinery,” official sources told APP.

As per the agreement, the company would set- up the facility in Kohat district while the provincial government will have a 10 per cent share in it once it starts operations.

The results are important, not mere words.
Words are important. Words have a great impact on the nation's psyche. At a societal level, words can give hope, prevent panic and anxiety. More specifically, words can influence the stock market, the currency and commodity markets, investor behaviour, etc., hence they can affect the economy and livelihoods. Words can also embolden racists, bigots and move the nation towards fascism.

Thanks for the links.

Russians signed an MOU to conduct feasibility for the offshore pipeline - it will be the outcome of this feasibility that will determine the future of $10B investment. We will be at fault to bank on that before the feasibility is conducted.

"As per the MoU terms, interested group will execute detailed feasibility for this project. KPOGCL also arranged a detailed site visit to the Russian delegation to district Kohat and showed the potential site for setting up the crude / condensate refinery. The delegation lauded the efforts of KPOGCL for facilitating new investors in the region on fast track basis and assured to take this project forward subject to their approval from Russia to enter Pakistan’s market."

So, these MOUs were also basically about conducting feasibility. It appears they have not been granted a license to construct. Another group led by local business man and Americans, was granted a license instead.

And words without any results to back them up lose credibility - fast.

But first, please give him some time to do what he has claimed, then decide. No rush to judgement.

Agreed. Stated intentions about actions, followed by no action or contradictory actions will lose credibility.

But words do have an impact on their own.

Emptysuit Imran Khan has committed political suicide by going to IMF. He could've avoided it but he took the easy option. The ch*tiyas around him like Razzaq Dawood and Asad Umar are destroying his credibility further. This housing lollipop which he still does'nt have enough funding to initiate, still won't save him or PTI.

We'll see about that in 5 years time.

he is not end of world. There are many capable people in Pakistan who can perform better than ik but are not given opportunity
That's remain to be seen. If he can't than no one can't.

How much worse can he perform? You have to sleepwalk if you want to be as bad as previous governments. He will do good. Have some faith.

LOL it is funny. Where was your IMF hatred in the last dozen installments? Suddenly the haters have found disgust for IMF LOL

Cant be worse

Given the loss of the value of the PKR, the above graph is meaningless unless corrected for constant value. As it stands, it has the effect of devaluation exaggerating the loan amounts in terms of value, hence misleading.
