Taliban are capable of far worse but we don't even know if it was Taliban who kept him in captivity and tortured him for years. That said, he is saying things that don't make sense especially when his nails are in perfect shape. If you ever had a nail removed you would know that they don't grow back in perfect shape like his look. What i don't get is people already sympathize with him, why did he exaggerate?

I had once lost a toenail due to diabetes and it grew back to perfection.

"After a nail separates from the nail bed for whatever reason, it will not reattach. A new nail will have to grow back in its place. Nails grow back slowly. It takes about 6 months for a fingernail and up to 18 months for a toenail to grow back."

No on said that the nail doesn't grow back, what i said was is what is confirmed by WebMD

''After a nail is removed there is abnormal nail growth. When the nail grows back, it may be odd in shape and appearance."
And these arise from circumstances when a nail is surgically removed. When a nail is just pulled there is no telling if it was entirely removed at once or some parts remained intact and in this case there is no way one can have perfect nails like Taseer does, atleast his finger nails have never been removed. I believe a picture is worth a thousand words.

That's what a a full grown nail after nail avulsion looks like, not to mention this only happened after some moderate to extensive use of antibiotics to avoid infection. And as per Taseer he was never given any medication, it's funny that his nails were removed they didnt catch any infection and yet grew back to shape like they were never removed.
