Hi,

I really really believe in the pledge---I think that we need to start a pledge of allegiance---everyday----in schools---in offices, everywhere---in public gathering rather than the national anthem---with your right hand on your heart and recitation in a clear voice.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the Pakistan, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

A pledge of allegiance is a personal promise, a conscientious call, a commitment to a cause that is the nation of Pakistan.

What does the Pledge of Allegiance mean?

I pledge

A pledge is a promise. So, when you say you pledge something you are promising to do something. You can pledge to be good for your parents, pledge to clean your room, etc.

Allegiance

Allegiance means loyalty. When you are a good friend to someone you are being loyal. You don’t say bad things about them; you are always nice to them.

To the flag

The flag is a symbol of our country. When saying the Pledge of Allegiance you typically face the flag and salute or place your hand over your heart to show how serious you are.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of Pakistan

This means that you promise to be a good friend to your country, Pakistan.

And to the republic

A republic is a place where people get to vote and make choices about leaders and what rules everyone should follow. People are free to agree or disagree and it is OK to be different. Pakistan is this type of place.

For which it stands

The flag of Pakistan is a symbol for this type of place, our country.

One nation

The nation of Pakistan, though it has 4 states and administrative units, also works together to be stronger.

Under God

This phrase is intended to show that a higher power blesses or looks positively on the type of place the Pakistan is.

Indivisible

Divisible means able to be divided such as when you cut an apple in two. Adding the prefix “in” means “not”. So, indivisible means not able to be divided. This is just like our country. Our country cannot be separated. Our country is strong and cannot be broken up for any reason.

With liberty

Liberty means freedom. In Pakistan we are able to make choices and do what we want. We do not have to be like everyone else.

And justice

Justice means fairness. The country does its best to ensure everything is fair for all people and nobody is favoured over another.

For all.

For everyone.

So, the Pledge of Allegiance could be summed up by saying:

The flag is a symbol of our country, The Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which is a place where we can make choices, vote and it is OK to be different. This is a country where a higher power thinks we are. Our country will always be together and strong because of that. Our country makes sure people are free and people are treated fairly. I promise to be a good and loyal friend to this country – The Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Taken from the pledge of allegiance of the united states of America.

Remember the time we had to all stand up and sing along with the national anthem, even in movie theaters? This new proposed pledge will end in the same result - ineffectual and ridiculed.

=========

Does this seem familiar?

Blessed be the sacred Land
Happy be the bounteous realm
Symbol of high resolve
Land of Pakistan
Blessed be thou citadel of faith

The order of this sacred land
Is the might of the brotherhood of the People
May the nation, the country, and the state
Shine in glory everlasting
Blessed be the goal of our ambition

This Flag of the Crescent and Star
Leads the way to progress and perfection

Interpreter of our past, glory of our present
Inspiration of our future
Symbol of the Almighty's protection

Hi,

Here is the difference between singing the national anthem and the pledge of allegiance----.

The pledge of allegiance now becomes a conscientious and a legal swear in promise to do the best on your part for the nation---. You have claimed it by invoking the name of the Lord----.

As you say it everyday---it becomes a part of you---as you recite it----it creates euphoria a feel good sensation in you and as you proceed thru your daily routine----sub-consciously the pledge is in the back oy your mind-----.

A WARNING----the pledge does not work on ACCOUNTANTS---well it does---but in a different way---

Okay, what difference has saying the namaz, day in and day out, really made in the life of this nation? Adding another passage said by rote won't do anything at all. A nation that recites the anthem without believing in it for all these years will do the same to whatever pledge you might come up with.

We do the same in India even today.

Why ineffectual and ridiculed? Mere to rongte khade ho jaate hain ....

Hi,

Neither is pledge of allegiance a namaz, nor it is a national anthem.

Any public servant, or any employee of any business run in Pakistan must adhere to the pledge---any person not taking the pledge would be warned and sent to a training center and if still not willing will be terminated from employment.

The pledge of allegiance must be made a part and parcel of everyday living of the citizens of Pakistan.

There must be ramifications and consideration against those who do not take the pledge.

You cannot force 'namaaz' on anyone---you cannot force religion on anyone----but you can force the PLEDGE.

Force the pledge---force it with consequences---consequences make people do wonderful things----.

Namaaz is a submission----national anthem is about the nation and who we are as a nation---and both these have nothing in common with the pledge of allegiance----.

It is the promise---it is the commitment----it is the obligation.

traning center Nazis lost the war bud .
Force the pledge---force it with consequences---consequences make people do wonderful things----.
Neither Pakistan a communist state nor north korea
It is the promise---it is the commitment----it is the obligation.
Nothing is better than reciting the National Anthem if you say from ur heart
otherwise people read quran but don't understand what it means

You cannot force 'namaaz' on anyone---you cannot force religion on anyone----but you can force the PLEDGE
You should go to middle east see if they force namaz or not

@MastanKhan - I'm in favor of it, but would prefer a pledge of allegiance in Urdu.

Hi,

Absolutely---English or Urdu----.

Every nation---for it to move forward and come out of a slump---needs a catchy phrase---it needs a slogan----something---to move it and shake it to get out of its slumber---.

Uncle dil totte totte ker ditta :(

I was just gonna say soo creative ..

There is nothing wrong with it----it is just like the Basket of soil / dirt that the emperor put heads of the party of Saad bin Abi Waqqas----.

You kids needs to listen and learn with open eyes and open minds----. There are nations who are giving your their soil / dirt in a basket---and you in your ignorance have no clue what a gift you received ----it is not you---it is the story of my motherland----.
