I need help. Actually I am going to take part in I.S.S.B.

I have just done my F.Sc with A grade. I am doing chemical engineering in NFC Multan. Actually, I want to join Pakistan Army as a commission officer so I have decided to apply. I have read a book on I.S.S.B tests so I have a full idea about I.S.S.B tests. Insallah I will clear this test. But I need help of all of you. Please tell me about the steps I will to do etc. I also want to know how to get through tests and interview and something about medical and physical tests too. Please recommend me some books too. I hope you will guide me as much as you can. Thanks anyway for paying interest in my thread.

Does SSB stand for Services Selection Board??

I have been through the SSB in India for selection for the IAF, got selected for AF but had a problem in the medical (I was too tall), so chose not to join NDA.

Since the DNA is the same, I would expect it to be a lot like the SSBs in India.

The keyword is confidence, and OLQs (Officer-Like Qualities).

Prepare by reading lots of newspapers, keep up-to-date with current events, international events.

They will ask about your personal life etc, speak confidently and do not hide anything, you must be seen as frank and honest.

Never get into any arguments etc with other candidates, they are always watching you. Do not be pushy, be magnanimous. OLQs.

A little name-dropping about relatives in the Armed Forces always helps.

Dress smartly but formally, do not be a dandy.

They have a trick by which the examiner will put you at ease, asking about your personal life and the change the topic suddenly and give you a task to do. Be wary.

Have a plan B- They might ask "What if you don't get into the Army?"
Dont say you will keep trying- say you'll be an engineer or whatever. They like that.
