I need a little help here on Pak army

@The Sandman

In PA, there was also a light tank inherited along with medium tank M4 Sherman. This light tank was M3/M5 Stuart, armed with 37mm gun. Initially they were only 13 in number.

IA also inherited this light tank, M3/M5 Stuart and put it to good use in Kashmir war and turned the tide for capture of Leh from Pakistani backed forces, just like IA armoured cars were instrumental in taking Srinagar.

You never heard this song before? :o:

As they say, Ringo was the least gifted singer of them hehe....but they still chose him for a few songs (famous ones even!....like yellow submarine and octopus garden).

I was born in the wrong era :( @jbgt90
How old are you bro? :)

I know that 2/3rds of the total divisions went to India and 1/3rd to Pakistan at partition. As for the exact numbers this involved and composition, you better refer to @Joe Shearer @jbgt90 and @PARIKRAMA .

I have a book somewhere with it....but I think its at my folks place in Singapore :P
I would like to refer you both to a book called the "India army after independence by k c parval" probably the best book written about the IA , it talks in detail about the divisions during the partition and which country got what , a must read if you can get it . its available on flipkart.

I wish you'd spent a couple of minutes telling the story. Sadly, the commander of the armoured detachment fizzled out in later life, and although heading very important contingents during 65, messed things up a bit.
