You have more minerals then many mineral exporting countries, yet you are a ''poor'' country.:hitwall:
It only makes me mad:pissed::pissed::pissed:

We will remain poor unless we extract them, otherwise Afghanistan have even more mineral than us. West is not giving shelters to Baluch insurgents without any reason.

Its allways the West.

Its allways the West.

What i am suppose to say when all the leadership of these insurgents is living in western countries - an on top of that they call them into UN to deliver speeches?

ISLAMABAD: Director General Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP) Dr Imran Khan said on Thursday substantial reserves of gold and copper have been discovered in Balochistan.

Briefing the National Assembly Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources, he said Balochistan has billion of tonnes of gold, copper and 200 million tonnes of iron.

Dr Imran was giving presentation on mineral projects in Saindak and Reko Dik to committee headed by Bilal Ahmad Virk. He said that in the absence of the required infrastructure, the government was unable to exploit and dig out the huge reserves of gold and copper lying beneath the land of the province.

His words came up as music to ears of the participants of the meeting when he came up with more disclosures revealing that new reserves of coal had been identified in Badin.

With this huge discovery, the country’s coal reserves will increase by one billion tonnes of coal, DG GSP said.

Pakistan also informed the committee that the water coming out of leather factories was the main cause of cancer. The committee asked the DG GSP to come up with a detailed report on the subject in next meeting.

The committee member asked if the concerned authorities have taken action against the unscrupulous leather factories.

Akran Durrani, member NA committee on petroleum and natural resources, asked the government to initiate the exploration and production activities for oil and gas in five districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Later, he said Pakistan will need not to import the gas from Iran. Another member of the committee Shehryar said committee member needs to visit to Karak district as there is taken place Rs250 million of oil theft every day.

People in the said districts are also involved in hoarding the gas in their homes and the law enforcement agencies seem helpless in this regard, he said. —Khalid Mustafa
Geological Survey of Pakistan (GSP) should also look towards Punjab, Gilgit and Kashmir.

You are confusing, Reko Dek gold reserves are over 650 tons, not billions. Someone correct me if i am wrong...

Which mean at current prices $270 billion worth of gold, again correct me if iam wrong.

In asia average cost of extraction is $700-1000 per one ounce of gold. 1oz of gold is going for $1300. Unless the price of gold goes up it is not economically viable to exploit in a big scale. For now they will remain buried.

so what no local company can extract it and no international company will come due to reko diq fiasco,
if govt put it hands on it, it will become another sanddak where govt was making losses while extracting gold and copper

Although condition in Pakistan is worse but its quite better in Kashmir, Gilgit, Punjab and in Sidh where Mineral research and extraction be done by bringing investment from Muslim countries...
