Huawei P20 (899Euros) Released: 40 MP RGB camera, AI-driven photography system, and 4000 mAh battery

There is lot of buzz around Xiomi's Pocophone F1 loaded with all major features and priced at USD 300. It is about to give wake up call to all the phone makers.

Dude

THAT'S MATE 10 PRO NOT MATE 20...

Either way, as I said, even if it actually did release in Oct 16 as it "Advertised" October 16 is STILL Q4 2018. So, you would STILL BE WRONG in the original question. Because back in April where my post started, you stated it WILL BE READY in Q3. And a sample already was made back in February

Also, TSMC does NOT just supply Huawei, as I said in previous post, Qualcomm news release their own launch with Snapdragon 850 just a couple of days later. So, basically, your "So Called" this year "advantage" does not exist at all.

Well, at least I have money to buy a high end phone, do you even own a P20 or P20 Pro?

LOL :woot: :dance3::dance3:

Keep sucking up the Chinese, one day they may give you a P20 out of Pity? Wait, no, they don't sell to Zimbabwe

Also, a phone is being "REVEALED or REVIEWED" does not mean that phone is being released immediately, Samsung S9 was revealed in Jan 2018, and only go on sale very late march 2018, which mean there are a few months in between. And being REVEALED in October 18 itself is already lies in Q4 2018, so at best case scenario, Mate 20 are released in Q4 2018, if not, it can goes as far as Q1 2019.
Dude

THAT'S MATE 10 PRO NOT MATE 20...
Dude

THAT'S THE FU**ING POINT AND LITERALLY WHAT THE POST YOU SCREAMED AT SAID

Either way, looks like we will get the "impossible" fall release even before "November" and long before the supposed "earliest" date next year for the chips to be ready after all.

South Atlantic Inter Link Connecting Cameroon to Brazil Fully Connected

Sep 06, 2018

[Fortaleza, Brazil, September 6, 2018] The South Atlantic Inter Link (SAIL) consortium announced the completion of the close to 6000km marine installation of its 25-year life- span transatlantic fiber optic subsea cable on September 4th. This marks a significant milestone: for the first time, two continents, Africa and Americas, in the Southern Hemisphere are fully connected to their respective landing stations, Kribi in Cameroon and Fortaleza in Brazil.

The SAIL cable system has been designed to be a fast and direct path, utilizing the industry leading 100G transmission technology and to deliver a design capacity of 32 Tbps, through a 4 fiber pair configuration since its inception in 2016. It is a joint investment by China Unicom (with its wholly-owned subsidiary, China Unicom do Brasil Telecomunicacoes Ltda) and CAMTEL. The entire project has been carried out by Huawei Marine Networks, a leading global supplier in the submarine cable industry.

Route Overview of SAIL

180906.jpg

Marine Installation of SAIL

With the rapid development of global infrastructure and a massive surge in worldwide internet traffic, Africa and Latin America are becoming strategic emerging markets of the global telecommunications industry. The introduction of SAIL meets the traffic demands from the emerging markets, and also opens a new routing through diverse paths between Africa and North America, Europe and South America. Through the launch of SAIL, countries in these regions, especially the Southern Hemisphere countries will be more connected and in a better position to drive the development of the region’s digital economy.

As an important infrastructure located in the Southern Hemisphere, supported by other submarine cables directed to Eurasia, the SAIL cable will positively impact the current communications market in Global South. This cable will allow immediate links of BRICS with connections to Brazil, South Africa in Southern Hemisphere, and connections to China, Russia and India in Eurasia. This will reinforce increasing communication demand and drive rapid expansion of global emerging markets in these areas.

You probably NEED to go to an English class Because you obliviously don't know what is the meaning of "CAN".

1.) Even if Mate 20 is release as Huawei said, on Oct 16, THAT'S Q4 (Q4 started Sept 30 to Dec 31), which mean the previous "claimant" of Q3 in back in April when this discussion started is WRONG.

2.) Unless you are Mike Fox in back to the future, YOU DON'T KNOW FOR SURE WHETHER OR NOT Mate 20 WILL be release without delay on Oct 16. Hence it "CAN" be delayed. Not saying it definitely will, but it can be delayed, because it happens in the future.

Go back to school, then we can talk. LMAO:omghaha:

Did you wrote that with your imaginary phone or your 5999 rupees chinese made? :omghaha:

You sounded like you never even have close to enough money to buy even a P20 Pro. LOL

Maybe you need to work harder and kiss more arse, 50 cents a piece, you will save up enough for a P20 if you kissed around 30,000 Chinese arse.

That is if you can find someone who sell a P20 in Zimbabwe LOL:: :omghaha::omghaha:

Nope. Clearly if anyone it's just you who is in dire need to polish his basic English reading comprehension skills or has to stop being a disingenuous lying prick. Another poor attempt to wind yourself out of a failed attempt to wind yourself out of a failed attempt to come up with a new detracting spin, after your earlier insistent claims turned out wrong, falling back to the usual "deflect/project/strawman, proclaim victory/defeat, dump some irrelevant personal anecdotes and repeat the same talking points from your previous monologue"-routine.

Oh and when you go back to class to finish learning basic English one day or at least how to properly conjugate verbs before going on a pathetic typo hunt, you could also ask your teacher what "obliviously", "best case" and "pot calling the kettle black" means. But let's not derail this thread further with your embarrassing projections.

English is not his mother tongue. Forgive him.

I will, in fact, I did, I just bought a Samsung S9 to upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, and you know what? When I buy it on JB Hifi, they are selling cheaper than Huawei P20, by 200 dollars. And both are on sale, and I did tested the P20 from the shop, and I don't think it justify to pay $1000 of my dollars for just a better camera (battery is not important to me) and I think the sale figure from both phone actually did support my point, both were being sold for 6 months now, and Samsung is about selling slightly less than twice than Huawei, mind you, you and a lot of people, include me, keep saying the S9 is shit, and it is, the Bixby button is annoying, and sometime the notification is so hidden inside the edged bezel you cannot tap it and you know what? P20 still cannot beat that Samsung S9. That in itself saying something.

You are arguing to a person who don't really know what people needed. Just because it have a tri-camera, then the whole phone must be better than the other brand lol.

The same argument we have heard about how P20 is going to kill off Samsung S9, and turns out how WRONG these people are.

On the other hand, they forgot to mentioned just a couple of day later, Qualcomm have their own announcement on 7nm chips, not a surprise actually, because TSMC supplies both HiSilicon and Qualcomm, if they have the 7nm out, they will not just give it to Huawei. So basically, that will negate the so called "Advantage" these people are talking about because both Qualcomm and Huawei 7nm is going to start at the similar point, maybe a few days ahead for either one, but will not be such a big gap like "Months Ahead" some member put out to be

https://www.engadget.com/2018/08/22/qualcomm-7nm-snapdragon-chip/

Actually, in a marketing point of view, it would be quite stupid to launch a flagship phone now when 5G is just about the corner (would be in Q1 or Q2 2019) and trust me, people who are thinking of buying their next phone (Flagship phone I mean) would not care about S-pen or 3 camera or any other feature, but simply on whether or not the next phone I buy support 5G.

Which basically mean it's quite stupid to launch now because unless you recall it, your new launch will not be ready for 5G when it come out and you have to wait for the next rotation, which is the whole year to be benefit from. That is the rumor going on about how Samsung withhold feature from the new Note 9 and saving it for S10.
Samsung is there already,it takes time for Huawei to take over, even today people still talk about Nokia and Motorola with their good quality reputation, and Nokia and Motorola still sell a lot of phones in many countries but that does not mean they are the king of today‘s cellphone world.
it is a matter of Time for huawei to take over the cellphone world .

Huawei and ASTRI C-V2X cooperation agreement signing ceremony

As recently as last week on 15 September 2018, ASTRI and Huawei jointly demonstrated a series of successful Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) test cases at the World Internet of Things Expo 2018. Sponsored by the Wuxi Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatisation, the Commission of Public Security, and the Jiangsu Provincial Government, the Expo took place in Wuxi, China ── the world’s first city-level C-V2X application demonstration site. The site spans around 170 km² and covers most area of Wuxi city. The project is also supported by the Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology, China Mobile, and a number of manufacturers including Audi and FAW.

The test was conducted near the Taihu Expo Centre in Taihu, Wuxi, on about six kilometres of open roads with six open crossings. 17 successful tests of typical application fields based on C-V2X were conducted, including forward collision warning, intersection collision warning, left turn auxiliary, vehicle blind area or lane change warning, road danger risk warning, speed limit warning, speed guidance based on signal lights, warning of congestion ahead, warning of pedestrian crossing in blind areas, and warning of on-ramp vehicles.

ASTRI and Huawei demonstrated the V2X applications using Huawei’s world-first dual-mode C-V2X roadside device RSU, supported by ASTRI’s C-V2X software system and algorithms. Under the test case, vehicles and the infrastructure leveraged C-V2X Uu and PC5 Communications channel to broadcast vehicular movement and traffic status information to cars made by FAW and other manufacturers.

Hugh Chow, Chief Executive Officer of ASTRI said, “ASTRI is committed to utilising the power of technology for overall Smart City development in Hong Kong and this region. We are honoured to be a part of this historic demonstration of C-V2X technologies in partnership with HUAWEI. As long-term strategic partners, we jointly work to build a connected vehicle ecosystem for Hongkong and the nation.” Mr Chow reiterated ASTRI’s resolve to “continue investing talent and resources to develop next generation telecom technologies and related applications with particular focus on smart mobility solutions that will not only support the Smart City development blueprint announced by the Hong Kong SAR Government, but also promote wider adoption across the Hong Kong – Macau – Guangdong Great Bay area.”

Veni Shone, President of LTE product line of HUAWEI technology limited and Cellular V2X solutions, said: “The launch of Wuxi C-V2X city-level project is by the efforts of transportation, telecom, vehicle and applications industry partners. As the most competent applied technologies research institute in Hong Kong, ASTRI makes great contribution in this project.

Huawei and ASTRI has signed the collaboration MoU and formed a joint research team to co-develop C-V2X technology, promoting the emerging technology and applications for a more mature solution and more valuable services. Together, they will help build the commercial intelligent transportation system in the Hong Kong – Macau – Guangdong Greater Bay area. “
