Let's just say Rehman malik was indeed late. There was another passenger, PMLn parliamentary. He said he was already there but didn't want to board because plane wasn't ready. He was kicked out because "why didn't he wait inside the plane like others."My uncle who works at an Islamabad airport told me that when a flight is delayed for any reason, VIPs often stay in the first class waiting area until they are told that the flight is ready to depart. Why would a VIP board an airplane when he knows that the flight is delayed for half an hour.
I am sure some of you have traveled from business class and you know very well that there is a separate waiting lounge for business class/first class passengers where they are served food, beverages and get to watch tv or use internet. When the flight is delayed, they are told so they could wait in the lounge instead of crowding in the airplane.
We need to be logical here guys. What I just wrote is something that I was told by a seasoned airport staff member (my uncle) who has been working at islamabad and other airports for the last 30 years.
In rehman malik's case, when he arrived at the airport, he was told about the flight being delayed. So he decided to stay at the business class lounge until the airplane gets the green signal. Once the airplane received the green signal, rehman malik heads towards his jet where an angry mod started bashing him for holding up the aircraft.
Honestly, who would wait inside PIA plane, even when choosing business class (he had economy one). I fly very regularly and I see on time flights. These "VIPs" pop out at the last minute, go through express lane (VIP lane) and no one makes fuss about it. Mind you, these VIPs are ones who have loyalty cards with the airline or whatnot. They are paying for it.
