On 17 February 2025 a Delta Airlines flight operated by Endeavor Air designated as Flight 4819 experienced a severe incident upon landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The CRJ-900 jet which had departed from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport overturned and landed upside down on the tarmac.The incident happened immediately after the plane touched down in difficult weather circumstances, which included snow and slick runway surfaces, at 2:15 PM local time. Thankfully all 80 people on board—76 passengers and 4 staff members—were found safe and sound after the incident.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they discovered the aircraft in a dangerous situation. According to early accounts, at least 18 people were hurt in the event, and three of them—including a four-year-old child—were listed as gravely injured. The injured were taken to a number of Toronto hospital facilities for assessment and care. Social media users posted pictures and videos of the downed plane with smoke coming from it showing how urgent the situation was as rescuers attempted to safely remove the occupants. Officials at Toronto Pearson Airport admitted that after the disaster operations were briefly suspended before picking back up later in evening.

Authorities are currently investigating cause of crash and evaluating a number of potential contributing variables. After being contacted the Canadian Transportation Safety Board is anticipated to carry out a comprehensive inquiry of the accident circumstances. Delta Airlines underlined its commitment to assist those affected by disaster with CEO Ed Bastian offering his condolences to the passengers and crew members involved. This tragedy emphasizes the value of emergency preparedness in light of risks and challenges associated with flying in inclement weather.
