Featured How Pakistan Is Preparing to Kill India’s New Aircraft Carriers

It's truly remarkable that PN never fielded an AC to counter ours considering how we try to one up each other. Atleast to keep the pride of the populace a light ac/lhd could have been maintained as a flagship and used sparingly during war and for ceremonial purposes. Don't think PN ever had a ship that would qualify as a flagship.

Unnecessary for our navy considering how an air craft carrier will prove no more valuable than say, the air force providing our naval assets cover. All of our assets will be defensive and stick to the vicinity of our air forces umbrella to provide them cover.

Our navy/air force is enough to handle yours.

Why? That would only indicate the PN is stupid to try and do tit for tat on as asset it has no use for. Aircraft Carriers are primarily for offensive power projection and the PN doesn’t have spare cash to maintain white elephants.

If anything, the PN has been most focused and effective at its primary tasks. Ensure Indian assets are destroyed by hook or crook - whether it makes a nice parade piece or not is irrelevant. Killing the enemy is important, twitter likes are not.

To be very honest it's hard to imagine a very logical we don't need it so we won't buy when it comes to India-Pakistan.

Not at all, the basic premise of all procurement in Pakistan is simple - whatever it takes to defeat the enemy. There is no “indigenous vs imported” or tit vs tat, its all about ensuring the balance keeps on defeating the enemy’s plans for X days per budget. As that budget increases, so will X.
Pakistan will only develop indigenous hardware when access to purchase is not available or not beneficial in 10 years time for that equipment.

The choice of whether or not to have aircraft carriers or indigenous equipment where prestige is involved is best left to countries 10times the population, 5 times the geographic area and 30 times the economy such as India.

we have great allies like china and turkey and when we will find us in need of heavy military hardware we can simply purchase it from them but only at time of need/emergency..i'm talking about heavyweight fighters like j-11 which have more range and hence are able to sink indiots carriers in far distances...and we also have a choice of an anti-ship ballistic missile like df-21d and df-26 which are impossible to stop...
and believe it or cry on it that our missile technology is a step ahead than yours and in need we won't hesitate to create one just because of fear of sanctions and you should know that only reason we aren't developing or maybe it is already developed and we are just not testing them is to avoid sanctions from your baba jaan united states.

Currently PN is focusing long rang subsonic missiles and Supersonic and Hypersonic missiles are underdevelopment

So in other word PN is relying on different missiles as counter weapon to possible attempt of Indian to distrub Pakistan's SLOC.

The thing required to be noted here is that long rang subsonic and in future supersonic missiles are integrated with Surface Fleet which might not be used in offensive operations, therefore we can say that surface fleet will mainly be employed in Anti- Access operation.

On the other hand submarine fleet of Pakistan is always employed in offensive manner but at least no open source information indicates that the current Agosta or 8 Hangoor class submarines would get supersonic missiles as part of their arsnal in this case Area Denial platforms will rely on old fashion subsonic missiles namely SLCM Harba and Babur.

As indicated in my previous post if India deploy its carrier group at +1,000-1,200 KM then we would have to solely rely on submarines to deny freedom of operations to Indian Navy but with growing Air defence capabilities of Indian Navy and the nature of threat Indian Navy at such distance would face would come only from one direction i.e. submarines of PN would make the defence "comparatively" easy and predictable for them.

At such distance the Air element from PN is completely missing, therefore Area denial strategy seem unidimensional, though it will get strengthen when Hypersonic Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile will be introduced but we should keep in mind its employment would require 24/7 ISR and satellite based real time tracking of IN ships this capability is "still" missing in PN as of now as per open source.

Another option in which PN seems not interested could be the introduction of Long Range Naval Bombers like H-6 in Pakistan Navy.

And if H-6 is acquried and integrated with local long rang subsonic and supersonic missiles then this will introduce a new capability in PN a long range operational capability specially in area denial domain.

PN could employ these in offensive role where IN ships would not have aerial cover.

Fun read for us armchair analysts
The INS Vikramaditya (even stand alone) has impressive capabilities
From open sources:
Igor Leonav, chief commissioner of Sevmash, who is heading the guarantee team to India, said the carrier controlled 778 flights during trials. There were 88 landings, too, all piloted by Russians. The carrier’s jamming capability was demonstrated when the Sukhoi-33s, Kamovs, MiG-29s and the early warning aircraft A-50 all failed to paint it on their radars, he said. The carrier’s radar, on the contrary, could pick oncoming aircraft from a distance of 350-400 km, said Mr. Leonav.

To enable this 44,500 tonnes floating steel city to cut through the choppy seas with speeds of up to 30 knots, she is powered by 08 new generation steam boilers generating a total output power of 180,000 SHP. These boilers power four enormous propellers, each greater in diameter than twice the height of an average male. Such a four propeller - four shaft configuration is another first in the Indian Navy.

The power generation capacity onboard is about 18 megawatts enough to cater to the lighting requirement of a mini city. An extensive revamp of sensors including fitment of Long range Air Surveillance Radars, Advanced Electronic Warfare Suite makes the ship capable of maintaining a surveillance bubble of over 500 kms around the ship.
The ship has the ability to carry over 30 aircraft comprising an assortment of MiG 29K/Sea Harrier, Kamov 31, Kamov 28, Sea King, ALH-Dhruv and Chetak helicopters. The MiG 29K swing role fighter is the main offensive platform and provides a quantum jump for the Indian Navy’s maritime strike capability. These fourth generation air superiority fighters provide a significant fillip for the Indian Navy with a range of over 700 nm and an array of weapons including anti-ship missiles, Beyond Visual Range air-to-air missiles, guided bombs and rockets.

Early Warning assets include the Ka-31AEW heptrs flying off the Talwars(Escorts) or the Vikramaditya
Flying off the Tabar
And CAP by Carrier Air Wing consisting of MiG-29K/KuB
4th+ Gen jet with great capabilities

Just my humble opinion, Pakistan now has the capability to use BM's to neutralize moving targets at sea.

@PanzerKiel @Rashid Mahmood @Raider 21 @The Eagle @SQ8 ?
I was thinking along the lines...
...either Pak uses satellites(a few) in LEO to keep an eye on the Indian ocean(out to a couple hundred kilometers from the coast). Depending on the number of satellites(the more the better) periodic updates can be provided to PN...regarding movements of IN(both in times of war and peace).
...or pseudo satellite drones(solar panel powered) that can stay aloft for a long time(IIRC Zephyr drone stayed airborne for like 20 or so days). A few of these at very high altitudes would be even better than satellites bcuz they will be retrievable and therefore enabling maintenance and upgradability. The downside would be the possibility of being shot down by Indian jets.
...or both of these above approaches.

Using these...Pak can figure out the position, heading, and speed of almost all of IN surface vessels in the Indian ocean hundreds of KMs from Pakistan's coast. Antiship BMs would do the rest.
