The loss of the soldiers is absolutely saddening, but we cannot escape our geopolitical and financial constraints. I see that you have mentioned the number of MBTs and APCs that shows us having finances for the MRAPs, but if we apply this logic, then Pakistan should first disband its air force so that it can provide clean water to the 200 million nation. If we divert all resources from defense, then we know what will happen. Similarly, if we divert resources from the MBTs and APCs, or other such requirements, then we leave our soldiers vulnerable to other kinds of attacks.

My point is that we should salute our soldiers for the sacrifices they make, but these losses are unfortunately inevitable and we must face them with fortitude. As we work to build Pakistan, we will overcome them as well.

Problem is our mentality is to wait for losses and only then we react. This reactive mentality has killed so many good soldiers, so many civilians, and cost us trillions of dollars in corruption at the hands of political mafia.

We used to have Proactive approaches before in 50's and 60's.
Then somehow we gave up on it and we became reactive. And the moment you let your enemy dictate your actions instead of you dictating to your enemy, you lose everything and are no longer in control of your home nor the battlefield.

Even our defensive and offensive postures and doctrines are based on reactive policies....as opposed to what our enemy wants. Hence the enemey will always be a step ahead of us and we will keep defying the basics of art of war and still think we are impenetrable.....this exactly is what is downfall of nations.
Remember the time when we used to be active and we used to define how the enemy perceived their own role towards us?

many of the members here are linked to military either directly or through some family member or friend so they feel for the fallen soldiers otherwise if you go and meet a common pakistani in lahore karachi or any other city you wont find many people who bother about these things. they are busy in their own business, jobs, frauds (prevalent in pak). all the political leaders dont care at all about the major issues being faced by the country. they are busy in doing their hypocrisy and telling lies to save their corruption. many of our politicians are working secretly for the enemies of pak. If you want to go after TTP, then you must go into India, not Afghanistan. TTP is just a symptom, the real disease resides somewhere within India.
If you want to go after ISIS, then you must go into Israel, not Afghanistan. ISIS is just a symptom, the real disease resides somewhere within Israel and around the globe. To chase ISIS, we must enter many many countries, that will also include Afghanistan, but not limited to.
So, put your gun back, and start thinking on right lines.

I have already said on another thread.

The issue is not funding or money. The issue is lack of apathy by military high command. Or else at least troops operating in NWA or SWA or Balochistan would have got a few MRAP etc when they are out on patrol.

Our generals need to be more realistic, more aggressive and less complacent like they are now.
