How is Pakistan’s military equipment affected by the Russian invasion?

The factory that makes engines for Alkhalid was bombed a few days ago. Pakistan should air lift key personnel from that factory and their families along with blue prints and software and settle them in Taxila to set up an tank engine factory.

All the four IL78s are in Pakistan.

Spares for T80UD are available from Russia.

wish pakistan policymakers were this thoughful. rn Pakistan has abundant of skilled engineers, mathematicians. we need industrial base to have academia and industrial collaboration. this would foster startups and manufacturing in Pakistan yet here powers to be are trying best to do leg pulling of eachother

You'd think they would have done this by now considering our experience with the Turkish engine fiasco. smh.

HIT has enough experience that it can reverse engineer the Ukrainian engines if push came to shove. But let's see what happens.

Newer versions of Al Khalid will most likely use VT4 engines. I would offer money to Ukrainian weapons designers for remote knowledge transfer. If they fled to the west, they are a zillion ways remotely conference and exchange monies for knowledge.

Pakistan govt needs to heavily incentivize electronics and mechanical eng fields. This can be done by giving tax incentives to foreign companies working in electronics (ic, sensors manufacturing/design ,avionics) and in mechanical engineering fields. Then by launching programs in universities where engineers are trained and have 100% job security upon grad in the companies.
Material eng is another must have field for a nation like Pakistan.
IMHO these 3 fields are must have for any nation to become a manufacturing hub and in turn you would have a flourishing economy and indeginious military.
Yet we are busy in bringing sham "Democracy" to Pakistan

Hi,

No---it cannot reverse engineer---.

And it would be stupid to do that when opportunity is available to do otherwise
