Citizens of Dhaka witnessed a horrific sight amidst the celebration of Eid al-Adha on Tuesday. Rainfall and animal sacrifices across the city created a dreadful scene of blood streams across streets in the city.

Waterlogging in many parts of the city got mixed with the blood following the sacrifices of the animals creating the disturbing scene. The flooded parts of the city gave an impression akin to rivers of
blood.

Despite the intermittent showers, citizens thronged mosques, offered prayers and proceeded with the ritualistic goat sacrifice.

CITIZENS SLAM CORPORATION

Corporations of the two major cities in Dhaka faced the ire of the citizens as many of them criticised the sluggish pace of cleanup following the ritual. Many pointed out that the incident reflected the corporation's failure at maintaining the drainage system. Both the cities were allotted 496 and 504 spots respectively for slaughtering animals.

Regardless of the designated spot, several people were seen performing animal sacrifices on the streets and other convenient locations. Soon the roads were filled with reddened water. The spots
included Mohammadpur, Mirpur, Shyamoli, Uttara, Dhanmondi, Niketon.

TOO FAR TO CARE
While some said that the lack of campaigning ahead of the festival was the reason for the situation, several others claimed that the designated spots were too far from their homes. Areas like Malibagh, Baily Road, Shantinagar, Bijoynagar, Paltan,
Motijheel, Jatrabari, Bakshi Bazar and Kathalbagan saw people slaughtering animals right in front of their homes.

Khandker Millatul Islam, deputy chief waste management official from Dhaka South City Corporation said that waterlogging has been problem for a long time. Islam added that the the corporation is working towards solving the issue.

Anyway More leathers for our Industry and Beef for malnourished poor people.

Tarek Fatah and his minions from India would jump on anything anytime. Forget those clowns.

Still Dhaka corporation has done a very bad job.

Shit. That looks seriously disgusting. Even Karachi looks far better on Eid day than that.

There was rain all day long, It is actually rain water. It took the red hue after people let the blood run into the roads from their garages.

Normally the blood runs into the drain, but the drains were already swelling up with water.

May be it is a sign for killing that Pakistani Supporter , and OMEN

Oh so that Ugly little toad, Tarek Fattah is behind all this. Hmmm pretty interesting.

Kinda reminds me when Egyptians were cursed by Prophet and their rivers turned into blood.

By this you will know that I am the LORD: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink and the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.

— Exodus 7:17–18

Dhaka streets are disgusting after Eid. Filthy sight and smell. Should slowly migrate to dedicated slaughter houses instead of primitive open mass slaughter.

As per the rules no picture of animal carcasses have been posted.
Please keep the discussion civil.
Newspaper links of India Today and Dailystar, BDNews24 & Dhaka Tribune of Bangladesh have been provided, the incident has been widely reported in different media and facebook/Twitter.

True, ppl should be sensitized to use slaughter houses instead of doing it in residential area. Not only sight & smell but also hygiene as well. If the water seeps underground into wells it will be disaster. Hope they take preventive measures next time.
