How Capitalism saved the space race

So you are now denying that tragic number by saying that it is repetitive ?
No, just pointing out the weird logic - "farmer dies -> country is capitalist".
Apart from the PDS system for basic food, how ?
Everything was nationalised from banks to companies, private companies found it hard to prosper and also that we had aversion to foreign investment.
You can google basic things.

I suppose a lot of what Lenin did, Stalin undid. Through as far as I know, Khrushchev brought things back on track.
No true Scotsman fallacy.
Also, Khrushchev's policies later led to

Well, the thread OP is about capitalism after all. :D

Yes and i almost totally agree with you on your last point about basic needs and china

But if we take the issue of land ownership, in Islam land and its results ( buildings, gardens etc ) are private and can be willed away to descendants and others in a systematic way. Well and good. But it does not extend to issues like one person having ten large estates and another person having to live in one small house.

That's the kind of stuff on which capitalists and socialists disagree from a moral standpoint but i think the state should only stick to making sure that everyone with no exception has a decent living

I am sorry that I thanked the post without realizing that it would be like indirectly endorsing an insult towards you. I have taken back the thanks.

No please don't apologize and don't worry about it, was still pissed off at that time due to his potty mouth...all good, much love

No, just pointing out the weird logic - "farmer dies -> country is capitalist".

"Farmer dies" is such an understatement. Those farmers committed suicide because of economic reasons. Because the surrounding socio-economic system which they believed in, left them with no other option. In one case, some MBA-type told a woman farmer that if she couldn't repay the loan she better jump into the village pond. The next morning she did. These cases are similar to the woman who died of hunger at that railway station recently, because she didn't have money to buy food. Yet we find middle class IT industry drones feeding stray dogs.

This is as ridiculous and unjust as Mukesh Ambani having a 27-storey house for his five-member family while not far from there are people who live five persons per small room in congested slums. Ambani's house includes a large temple. Piety for himself while poverty for others ?

What kind of society is this ?

Everything was nationalised from banks to companies, private companies found it hard to prosper and also that we had aversion to foreign investment.

That is an excuse. Did the 143 year old Bombay Stock Exchange ever shut down ?

You can google basic things.

I too will ask a basic question. Are land and means of production public properties in India ?

Also, Khrushchev's policies later led to
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Era_of_Stagnation

Look who coined the term :
The term "Era of Stagnation" was coined by Mikhail Gorbachev in order to describe the negative way in which he viewed the economic, political, and social policies of the period.

But why are you not happy with this :
Some Marxist–Leninist writers have argued that economic stagnation was a result of revisionism in Soviet economic policy during Khrushchev's leadership. According to authors like Harpal Brar, Khrushchev's de-Stalinization program was also used to implement economic reforms that would move the USSR away from central planning and towards market socialism.

Besides, we were talking day before yesterday about the USSR's ambitious manned Mars mission. It happened during this "era".

Your source also speaks about the Soviet scientist Andrei Sakharov from whom is named the European ( West ) prize name Sakhorov Prize. I quote its Wiki :
The 2017 prize was awarded to the Democratic Opposition in Venezuela

I speak for the pre-2011 Libyan system called The Third Universal Theory aka Jamahiriya theory which was Direct Democracy Socialism, basically a system where neighborhoods and cities mostly worked without intervention by the 'state' and where the 'state' was not a government as is known in Western countries or in other places too but was more a set of committees that were the interface between neighborhood / city committees and funds and resources.

But I still speak for land being a public resource managed by a land and constructions committee. Will avoid disputes.

How is india even capitalist?
Forget "most" capitalist 4, they still so so socialist

Please read my posts after the one you quoted.

Few people committing suicides in country of more than 1 billion people is not big deal.

1. 300,000+ Indian farmers committed suicide between 1995 and 2015. Many still do. Is this a small number ?

2. If your farmer friend or brother committed suicide the same way would you still say this ?

An agricultural society with disguised employment - land per capita will get smaller and smaller, the core issue is we need to reform agriculture pull our 60% population out. Mukesh Ambani being rich is a different issue, Bezos is rich - much more than Ambani but farmers don't die in US, why?
That is an excuse. Did the 143 year old Bombay Stock Exchange ever shut down ?
Dude, you can't counter arguments with "That is an excuse", you have to explain it and regardless of Bombay blah blah, most of the companies remained public.
I will ask a basic question. Is land a public property in India ?
Lol, man. We were never fully communists, good for us but most of the big public companies and banks in every field were nationalised.

I just pointed out that he didn't.

We had a Mars mission under Modi, it prove what?

"simply because of capitalism but because of Elon Musk's ambition, drive and ability to simplify; then the people who agreed to join him before the Falcon 1 rocket flew; the lucky support he got from government departments like the air force; but of course he was willing to invest his money in his ambitious ideas"

Can you please be clear ?

This I partially agree. The huge, unscientifically-applied workforce in Indian agriculture should be made scientific through methods like collective farming, Urban Farming and Vertical Farming. Further, agriculture should be made a public resource with the farmers becoming salaried people just like the current middle class.

Dude, you can't counter arguments with "That is an excuse", you have to explain it

You said exactly this :
Everything was nationalised from banks to companies
"Everything" is an overstatement. Take banks. There are so many private ones which have "products"... "Products" in an institution which should be public-owned and offer only savings account, the occasional loan and means of enabling digital transactions.

and regardless of Bombay blah blah

It is not blah blah but a fact.

most of the companies remained public.

How about the two largest oil refineries in India belonging privately to Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited ?

We had a Mars mission under Modi, it prove what?

I am talking about a USSR manned Mars landing program planned to be launch in 1980, planned in the 1960s and would have become simpler by the 80s. You are talking about just a Mars imaging program that was launched in 2013.

Ambition, intellect and training is the difference.

Collective farming is not needed at all.

Popped up after 1991.
How about the two largest oil refineries in India belonging privately to Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited ?
Again after 1991 liberalisation, and you know what EVERY DAMN GOVERNMENT RUN COMPANY RUNS WITH LOSS,
Look how GDP changed after opening the doors for privatisation :-

I am saying that space mission doesn't prove well being of the people, case in point - Modi and Mars mission.

mindless buffoons are losers like you who spend their time writing paragraphs being jealous of Jews and rich people lol... man up, your real wealth is your dignity whether you're poor or not you clearly lack it

If you do not know the subject of monetary economics or Riba, then I suggest you go read up and educate yourself. Don't run your mouth like a loose cannon just because you have nothing factual to include in your argument. Capitalism has widen the wealth gap between the "Middle Class" and the rich, to the extent that there is no Middle Class America in existence anymore, or barely hanging by a thread.

lol and from what you're typing this? your phone? your laptop?

Really?! What are you, an adult whose brain never left high school mentality?? Grow up kid.

btw didn't Imran Hossein teach you that capitalism (controlled) is part of Islamic economics?

Anyone with actual intellect would tell you that when seeking knowledge you don't just go to one source, but study and analyze various sources to fully grasp the subject. But I guess a short-sighted, inexperienced, lack of critical thinking, boy like you would just resort to cheap, childish potshots. It's like Imran Hosein is your only "go to" says a lot about your pathetic mentality.

Toddler, go educate yourself about capitalism from sources other than those who are the paid, bought off proponents of the subject. Capitalism is the tool that Zionists have used to wrest full control of the Western World. If you don't see that, it's because your child like brain fails to comprehend with the subject. It's also because you're incapable of critical thinking.

course not, low iq cry babies like you only cares about is whining about jews and conspiracy theories

you're 41 acting like a teenager on the internet, i'm probably around your son's age and now i have to teach you basic stuff.

It is pretty clear that a young brick like you haven't lived or experienced life long enough to ever grasp the subject. Hence you go around running your mouth as if you have a full grasp of the subject. If you say you're young enough to be my son, then you've clearly demonstrated that you haven't learnt anything about manners or respect. Nor have the slightest knowledge on what capitalism has done over the last 30 years. In the last 30 years, capitalism has zero resistance from anyone, since the collapse of the Soviet Communist block. Yet in the 30 years, the wealth gap between the Middle Class and Rich has widen further and further. In the 1990s america had a middle class population of close to 100 million. Today, there is no actual Middle Class America anymore.

But I guess you're the yuppie that rather read Forbes, FT and other garbage to put your puny mentality at peace. Grow the eff up, study the subject and when you've managed to crawl out of your diapers on this subject, then come talk like a man, instead of taking childish potshots at someone who has lived through the Cold War and the 30 years of post cold war.

so you're conflating capitalism as a whole with riba

btw for the record take a look at my previous posts before, to avoid repeating myself..case in point any stats to back up your claim about the American middle class? Either way you still haven't shown me yet how capitalism isn't part of Islamic economics....not riba, not wealth gap, i'm talking about capitalism as a system...
Really?! What are you, an adult whose brain never left high school mentality?? Grow up kid.

I made a point

Address my claim about capitalism in Islam

Was our Prophet a zionist then? again you're conflating it with Riba? I think you should better read my previous post

You started the insults, i'll be the better man and edit out all the insults i said on this reply and apologize...you're elder than me i should respect that

Btw i advocate for an Islamic system so please stop confusing my perpective of capitalism with crony capitalism and my previous points still stand...by the way why insist on America when i already clarified my points before?

Capitalism and Communism are outdated smh let's move on from these materialistic ideologies that have harmed humanity than helped

. .
@Nasr, i'm just gonna ask the questions hovering the top of my head, i'm talking about the philosophy of capitalism and i made it clear i'm for control

  • From which angle is the Islamic Economic system so anti capitalist?
  • do you hate capitalism as a whole or just conflating the economic philosophy with crony capitalism?
  • What is Islam's stance on the accumulation of wealth and protection of property rights especially for the bourgeoisie?
  • Islamic stance on business profit for private businesses?
  • Confused? No shame admitting it nor im shaming you....you ARE confused aren't you? Noticed that after you mentioned Riba which isn't even in the bigger picture
