1. So the government
does compensate its spendings on healthcare by recycling it from the taxes. So in truth isn't this just an illusion of free healthcare ?
2. Though Cuba and North Korea are a lot poorer than Britain in Capitalist terms they have free healthcare and I don't think they have many taxes. As it is, taxes like income tax especially are really a legacy of feudal and monarchic times and should have been abolished in these modern times everywhere.
3. Since education in Britain, including medical education, is not free there is no reason for that 360 billion pounds expenditure in the medical system to exist. I think this is mostly material cost that is more expensive in Britain than in maintaining something say in India, Russia, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc.
Well, in Cuba and North Korea too dental care and optician care would be included within the overall healthcare and free for all sections of society.
Before COVID there were many Britishers who would come to India too and I think treatment here is cheaper than in Turkey. Cheaper for Westerners. For Indians healthcare is not available unless they have money. Many suffer for long or die from illnesses like eye condition to kidney ailment to cancer to genetic conditions like SMA just because they don't have money.
There are crowdfunding websites like Ketto and Impact Guru which raise money to pay for treatments of the public but how much money can they raise and for how many ?
And these websites and the contributing public are doing the job that the Indian government must be doing.
