The pictures are loading very slowly for me but not due to issues on my side. I have a pretty fast connection. Bandwidth issue server-side in the cloud.

Also you may have posted Evercare Hospital Chattogram picture by mistake for Dhaka bhai. This is a picture of the Evercare Dhaka Hospital.

Nice buildings but the medical staff are absolutely shocking I am afraid.

I have received medical treatment in India and have to say their best are on par with U.K. and Europe.

Super clean hospitals and professional and courteous staff.

I have also had the misfortune of visiting one of those Dhakaya hospitals. Abysmal, unprofessional and thieving staff.

Gleaming buildings cannot disguise poorly qualified and unprofessional staff.

Medical staff in Bangladesh are just too powerful and not ready to submit to the level of scrutiny and discipline required to be half decent.

Anyway, my two cents from a family with few British educated doctors!

Most popular surgery in BD is a Cesarean section lol it’s absolutely scandalous! Another example of money grabbing butchers.

Hasina should have done something about this by now.

It looks like an area that she has failed in.

She cannot do everything.

Bangladeshi Medical staff are just too thuggish to accept the level of scrutiny required.

She could ask all Bangladeshi doctors and nurses to submit to a western (maybe British) watchdog.

But she will be met with violence.

I appreciate that she cannot fix everything.

She however has a lot of power as quasi-dictator and so should have made some inroads after 14 years in power to maybe get to halfway between where BD was back in 2009 and where India is.

She could ask India for help given zeeero expertise in Bangladesh.

But you know how that will be perceived!!

I think she should allow some Indian hospitals to be set up in BD with Indian senior managers and doctors in charge.
Pay them LOTS of money to entice them to BD. The other staff can be local BD'shi.

Once there is competition from professional hospitals, then the BD medical establishment will be forced to get their act together as otherwise they will start losing their patients.

Think there may be plans for this and so probably Hasina is already on the ball here. :p:

Public Health Sector in Bangladesh

There are 5 Public Medical Universities and 37 public Medical Colleges in Bangladesh. Many of these Medical Universities and Colleges includes 1500 or 500 bed Hospitals.

Besides these Medical Universities and Colleges, Bangladesh has total 64 districts and each of these 64 district headquarters has 100-250 bed general Hospitals.

These 64 districts are divided into 495 Upazila or Sub-District. These sub-districts each has 50-100 bed General Hospital. Each Upazila is divided into several Union Parishad, which is the smallest form of administrative unit in Bangladesh. Bangladesh has 4,562 Union Parishad. Most of these Union Parishad have 10-20 bed Hospitals. Besides these general Hospitals, Each district also contains some specialized Hospitals like TB Hospital, Leprosy Hospital, Orthopedic Hospital, Diabetic Hospital etc.

Due to special emphasis on Maternal and Child health care, Govt. established Mother and Child Health Care Center in each Upazila.
